Bellmon Adjusters, Inc.
 
Independent Claims Adjuster – September 2005 to Present.  Certified to adjust large commercial, residential, and mobile home losses on behalf of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Responsible for the adjudication of flood claims during catastrophe and non-catastrophe events for numerous insurance companies throughout the United States. Specific duties include on-site inspections, detailed documentation of losses, estimate preparation, settlement, and presentation of a comprehensive adjustment package for the client company. Provide guidance to other adjusters in relation to the NFIP policy coverages and exclusions.

Supervisor, Claims Administration Group – September 2001 to September 2005.  Developed and supervised the day-to-day operation of the claims unit to ensure effective and productive claims servicing. Communicated with insureds, agents, brokers, attorneys, adjusters, government personnel, and congressional offices to resolve or arbitrate disputed negotiations in an attempt to settle claims in a fair and efficient manner. Reviewed and approved Claims Examiners’ work product in excess of their payment authority. Earned payment authority equal to Program limits. Provided direction, advice, and approval on unique and problem claim cases. Implemented and monitored performance standards within the unit and ensured compliance with all claims projects, policies and procedures. Prepared and administered employee evaluations. Provided claims training to new and existing personnel, clients, and others. Participated in internal and external audits.

Claims Examiner/Field Adjuster – January 1996 to September 1999. Performed all activities related to the processing and settlement of claims in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines. Calculated the amount to be paid within the policy coverage and negotiated settlement as needed to conclude claims. Corresponded with agents, brokers, attorneys, insureds, and provided technical assistance to co-workers as required. Researched prior claim history and analyzed multiple loss situations to avoid duplication of coverage and identify possible fraud. Determined coverage on claims and conferred and coordinated with the Underwriting Department on coverage problems. Adjusted and investigated claims and prepared reports for submission to Claims Administration for final review and disposition. Assisted in the resolution of problem cases. Coordinated and conducted field re-inspections. Established and served as Manager for Field Insurance Claims Offices (FICO) during catastrophe events. Provided claims training to new and existing client and staff personnel.
