                                   WORK HISTORY

 1998-2007                  Property Adjuster, Claims Examiner.  Independent Self-employed

Working as an Independent Adjuster or Examiner for various claims service companies. Recently did re-inspections and mediations for Louisiana Citizens on Katrina claims in New Orleans. Have also adjusted or worked as Examiner on commercial and personal lines property damage claims for a number of carriers including Zurich, Travelers, Citizens, USAA, Hartford, Liberty Mutual, Montgomery Insurance Companies, Atlantic Mutual, Church Mutual, and numerous others. Knowledgeable in heavy or large structure losses due to numerous causes of loss. Proficient in use of Exactimate and Simsol estimating systems.

1992-1998                    Property Adjuster, Claims Examiner. USAA, Norfolk, VA and Charlotte, NC

Handled large loss personal lines property claims. Initially worked as Large Loss Examiner in Regional office and later as outside adjuster in Charlotte, NC. Handled large loss fire, mold, water and other complex claims like collapse and EIFS claims. USAA is heavy on customer service and satisfaction.  Experienced in total loss claims and can write detailed estimates from blueprints or Insured’s descriptions. Handled fire claims in excess of 1 million dollars.

1987-1992                    Management. Wilton Group, Richmond, VA

                                        On management team and board of directors involved in all phases of business for this Restoration contractor doing insurance related repairs and consulting, as well as remodeling and new home construction.  Duties included estimating and management of all size and type insurance property losses. Emphasis on large residential and commercial property damage claims.

1983-1987                    Senior Property Adjuster.  Aetna Life and Casualty, Richmond, VA

Handled property damage claims for 1/2 the state of Virginia as a field adjuster.

Main duty was large loss residential and commercial property losses.

1980-1983                    Branch Manager, Adjuster. National Claims Service, Richmond, VA

                                        Started as an Adjuster trainee and worked my way up to branch manager.  Responsible for sales to Insurance carriers, developing new business and clients, and maintaining existing accounts.  Handled multi-line claims, and managed a small branch office for this National independent claims company.
