As an adjuster, it was my responsibility to scope and determine the levels of damage and to then generating loss reports to the applicable property and casualty insurance carriers. This required that I work with people that had sustained various levels of loss to their homes and property. Central in this position, was my responsibility to act as a liaison between the client and their insurance carrier so as to foster client retention.

During this time, I worked claims for wind, water and storm damages sustained during Hurricanes, Rita and Katrina in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. It was important to be highly organized, with excellent time management skills, as it was my job to get the emergency funds to owners as quickly as possible. In my position, I was responsible for negotiating with home owners to settling losses. This required sensitivity to the client, and adherence to the insurance policy guidelines for claims paying.
