Over half of EQC claims assessed

 The Earthquake Commission have assessed over half of claims lodged after the Canterbury earthquake last September.

More than half of claims lodged after the Canterbury earthquake have been assessed by the Earthquake Commission.

Over 169,000 claims have been lodged since the September 4th quake and subsequent aftershocks.

Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee says there are more than 400 loss adjusters and estimators working in the field with another 90 to join the team by the end of the month.
