Two strong earthquakes have shaken the Greenbrier area yet again this morning after a week of continued tremors that have been rising in magnitude.
Early Friday Morning, the largest earthquake to hit Arkansas in recent memory rattled residents in Faulkner County. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirms it was 4.3 in magnitude and was centered three miles northeast of Greenbrier at 2:13 a.m.
Four hours later at 6:18, another quake measuring 3.2 shook the town.
Late Thursday night another tremor measuring 4.0 rumbled the ground there. It was the latest one in a day of continued smaller earthquakes around Greenbrier.
The first one Thursday measured 3.8 and hit just four miles northeast of Greenbrier at 4:49 a.m. The Arkansas Geological Survey's list of the latest earthquakes in the state (click here) gives this quake a 4.0 rating.
