With the recent advent of the Terrorist Alert and the suggestion that all Americans stock up on poly sheeting and duct tape will/could the following problems arise.
Canada's #1 export, the Red Green Show could be taken off the air due to lack of duct tape. If this happens will our neighbours to the north be forced to once again trap beavers for substistance. Will PETA allow this wanton slaughter of beavers.
Will the lack of duct tape place untold thousands of Canadian Adjusters and Contractors on the unemployment rolls?
Will the Franco government in Quebec be thrown into a panic when they declare that "We have not even heard le duct tape. We have been listening to le Yanni Tape."
Your comments and or suggestions on how to deal with this new "crisis" will be appreciated.

I don't get Red Green any more, it was my favorite educational TV program. I still have an ample supply of tape and I have a full roll of poly 20x100 6mil, left over from my last business. Thanks to Red Green I stocked up long ago. |

Justin, as I explained to you in a PM message, I was horrified and shocked to hear the news, albeit not yet being confirmed by CNN.
Green was our best promoter of one of our key manufacturing sectors - duct tape. If this export market falls due to its lack of adhesion from the reasons you noted, we will be in dire straights. There are duct tape manufacturing facilities all through Canada (except Quebec), and their collapse will force all walks of life back to the bush.
I don't doubt our Right Honorable (there is a 'u' in that up here, eh) 'sidewinder' leader is not familiar with the duct tape industry due to its absence in la belle provence, and his professed own label as the 'boy from Shawinigan'.
Our migration back to the bush however, will give renewed strength towards draining of our natural resources.
We will learn with vigor to scrape the land of all poplar trees, and will renew our fights within NAFTA to export to big brother the cattle feed produced from finely chipped poplar mixed with molasses. This logic will force le beaver from the forests into the abandoned towns, where they will adapt and learn to chew on the clap board siding on the homes in our communities; and hence create a great new source of claims for adjusters for damaged homes. Finally, as the beavers propagate under the porches of suburbia, they will be trapped again in abundance renewing our great heritage as fur traders. This cultivation of Joe & Jill Beaver will however be controlled, based on the claims volume coming in, so as not to create a 'cat claim' situation, and hence avoid the need for the feared 'slash n burn' adjuster which would not be understood on the streets of Pleasantville.
It's the optomistic point of view, eh? Loose duct tape, and renew forestry, fur trading and claims. But, it takes an anglo to figure it out, eh. |

Do you think Arnold will need a lot of Duct Tape to cut taxes and increase services in CA? |

No, Arnold will not need duct-tape. He'll just pull out his automatic weapon, show up at the state legislature and simply request the democratic legislators to see things his way or in the alternative, simply eliminate the demos. |

You may be correct. I am looking forward to see how things play out because it is sure to not going to be "business as usual" with someone like Arnold at the top. Hey if he is making progress this time next year it sure will help Bush carry CA. In less than one month we most likely will have the first Republican governor in KY in 30 years because of the mess created by the Demos. |

I suspect, based on our official CADO post election analysis, that the issue distilled down to this question in the minds of California Democratic feminists: Who would I rather be groped by, Arnie or Davis? Obviously, the 98lb weakling lost again. |
