It appears from the reports that north of Houston received some hail. Some was the size of golfballs according to friends from there, just don't know what number of claims it will produce. I guess that we'll see on Monday. North La. got hit pretty good, but no hail. Still no tornadoes this year.

The grass is always greener on the other side, but it still has to be mowed!

Wow! It isn't hail, but it looks like Georgia and the Carolinas are getting hit pretty hard with wind. Take a look. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/reports/today.html

Asheboro, NC had some major wind damage yesterday morning and there are reports of some major wind damages yesterday from Charlotte. Winds throughout North Carolina expected to range from 20 to 45 miles per hour throughout the day today with higher gusting. With the ground wet from all the recent ice, snow and rain, lots of pine trees toppling over.

Here is a link to the Greensboro television station website with more information on the Asheboro storm damages. Some mobile homes blown over down there with several commercial roofs blown off as well as loads of residential wind damage to roofs. Television last night showed metal flag poles bent in half from straight line winds in Asheboro.

For reports on other damages from windstorms across the state of North Carolina, visit the weblink below for the Raleigh News and Observer which is reporting damages in several counties.
