Kile, GW only spoke for four minutes. The catch phrase that stuck with me was that it had begun, and that "this will not be a war of half measures".

I just can not imagine what the common civilian person in the suburbs of Bagadad is thinking and feeling tonight.

As well, while watching CNN, post 10.15, they had an Army Cav Captain on, who didn't look a day over 30; confident as can be and looking sharp. The young people of his squad are likely 10 years younger yet; quite a sobering thought. It is even harder to imagine what is going through their minds at this time. I sense they have tremendous anticipation, eagerness to get on with it; and a tremendous thrill of their place in time. A "thrill" doesn't always come from a 'fun' event - which this is not. A thrill can be experienced under the sheets, or sitting in a car at 70 mph spinning out of control on the highway; or racing across a desert, eliminating all obstacles on their way to an objective.

It is times like this, that I remember my Dad finally talking to me about his 5 years overseas during WWII. He would not talk to me about it until I was over 18 years old, and it started one evening after an 11/11 Remembrance Day. It wasn't a good story, it was clear to me that war was and is hell on earth. It is memories of that saga, that makes me think of the courage of all those ready now to serve. My thoughts are with them, and to the parents and family of each of them.

Let us all remember in our thoughts and prayers, all those that are in Harm's Way ........let us remember their families and their loved ones in those prayers and thoughts.......and if,as individuals, we can in some small way show our support, let all do so........

Fly that Flag! we put ours out on Tuesday morning. There are a number of families within our community that have "kids" (right out of high school) that are deployed. All we can do is pray for all concerned and fly those colors to show our support. I know you have one. If you haven't already...go put it out and say a prayer.

Lisa I will definetly include a prayer for your love ones along with my daily prayers aking that no more lives are lost. America has already lost 6 young soldiers this week and to think there might be more sends chills up & down my spine. I come from a military family and know the added amount of stress and tension that comes along with it. Every time I have heard the news of lost lives I hold my breath praying that our our families love ones are ok. It's hard but we are sure proud of them for protecting our country and keeping it safe. We all owe alot to the past, present and future soldiers of this country and whether people agree with war or not they owe them the respect and gratitude and thanks for the freedom they enjoy everytime they wake up each morning. I don't know your love one but tell him thanks for defending this Great country of ours.May GoD Bless you and your family and may he bring your love one home without even a scratch on him.

Those who are really Americans and love the concept of Democracy and Freedom. Then there are those whose attitudes leave a great deal of void.

Tom, Did you take that picture? That's an editorial picture if I've ever seen one! This lone soldier, the only one to take a stand, from his wheelchair...how moving!

Reminds me of our text this morning at church. Romans 13, specifically on how we are to "Uphold our Conduct" and to respect and obey our laws and our leaders.

Romans 3:1 - Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God....

Didn't mean to start preaching so I'll step off of my soapbox. You can read the rest of the chapter...it speaks volumes to what is at hand.

Thank you for your prayers. Remember...Sorrow looks down, Worry looks around, Faith looks up!

No Lisa, it was sent to me by a friend. I can assure you, my wife and I would not have been sitting on our asses while the colors went by, unlike the people in this photo.

Tom - Awesome Picture!!! It sure made me think if I am doing enough to show my support. I pray eveyday for the safety of our soldiers and ask GOD to watch over them. I just can't seem to think if there is something more that I can do. What else can we all do to show our support of our troops. Any suggestions. Everyone Please give input.

May GOD Bless and take care.

We are planning to move to a new location soon that is empty but has a flag pole so the kids and I bought a 4X6 flag and ran it up. I had to do some looking to find a flag that size. There were only a few 3X5's left but since the pole was set up with 4 feet better hooks I went back with the 4X6 which looks great in the March wind.

Just got off the phone with one of my nephews, Gary, who is with the 4th ID. He is headed to Kuwait Fri or Sat. Their choppers and other equip. have been sitting on a ship off the coast of Turkey for 35 days.

Another one of my nephews, Waylon, is on a ship in the Gulf, he is an intelligence analyst/threat analyst in the CIC.

Another nephew, Donnie, is a crypto/intelligence analyst in the AF. He is headed to Kuwait sometime soon.

All and their families are well.

Send a prayer or two their way if you would.
