Kile, Kile, Kile.

Just think about what you would be saying if Bill Clinton had had the same cronyistic conflict of interest improprieties in his administration? That is, IF, you could get past crucifying him.

But never fear, word on the street is that Bush will be bringing back his close friend, major Bush campaign contributor, and good buddy Ken ('Kenny Boy') Lay as head of his new Bush Department of Ethics and has also hired Arthur Anderson as the US government's Iraq war budget accountants.

Now that should make every American sleep better tonight!

But don't worry Kile, there's more to come, so start getting all those excuses ready to defend the indefensible.

Now what was it that that great Republican President, DDE, warned us about, once upon a time, about the military-industrial complex?

Before it's over, this administration is going to make 'Tea Pot Dome' look like a church social.

Jim,

You don't think that all of Clinton's lawyer buddies made a mint during his administration? Give me a break.
Keep digging buddy, you still haven't found anything. This is how business works. Personally, I'm glad to have a bunch of businessmen in the Whitehouse instead of career politicians. These guys actually know how to run a business and they are taking that knowledge to running the country an it's a wonderful thing.

I went to business school and I've made lots of money through connections I made there. I have made lots of money through contacts I've made with friends, so what? That's how the world works. At least he can keep his hands off the interns.

Interesting Quote:

"On the surface, selling arms to a country that sponsors terrorism, of course, clearly, you'd have to argue it's wrong, but it's the exception sometimes that proves the rule."

So 'business as usual' huh Kile? Just another day in Paradise?

Is THAT the way it works under Republican Presidents?

Thanks for advising us and justifying such tendentiously impecunious behavior.

(More to come).

Show me something that breaks the law and I'll be righteously indignant with you. So far I see nothing.

Is the war going well?

Does the Bush administration know what it's doing in Iraq?

Not if you believe what the British newspapers are saying.

Take a look at the Manchester Guardian's blistering critique of the Bush war in an article entitled America In The Vice at the weblink which follows:

Bush Bravely Leads 3rd Infantry Into Battle
IRAQ-KUWAIT BORDER—As the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division began its ground assault on Iraq Monday, President Bush marched alongside the front-line soldiers, bravely putting his own life on the line for his country by personally participating in the attack.

"Bush is the real deal, and when he talks about fighting for freedom, he means it," said Pvt. Tom Scharpling, 21. "He'd never ask one of us grunts to take any risks for our country that he wasn't willing to take himself."

According to reports from the front, many of the soldiers were initially suspicious of the president, doubtful that an Ivy Leaguer who once used powerful family connections to avoid service in Vietnam had what it took to face enemy fire head-on. However, Bush—or, as his fellow soldiers nicknamed him in a spirit of battlefield camaraderie, 'Big Tex'—quickly overcame the platoon's reluctance to having a "fancy-pants Yalie" in its ranks.

"Bush is the best soldier I've ever had the honor of fighting alongside," said Pvt. Jon Benjamin, 23. "I'd take a bullet for that man, because I know he'd take one for me if he had to."

Proving himself a worthy foot soldier, Bush has earned the respect of his fellow front-line combatants with acts of courage and heroism that one soldier called "a truly inspiring example of one man's commitment to the cause of liberty."

"Just yesterday, George stormed an Iraqi machine-gun nest when our sergeant took one in the belly," Pvt. Scott "Lumpy" Fellers, 20, told reporters. "We were pinned down, cut off from our division, and it looked like curtains for us all. Thankfully, George was there. He ran through heavy artillery fire and lobbed a grenade right into their bunker. If it hadn't been for him, God knows how many of us would've been coming home in body bags."

"It's not just any president who would risk his life like the nation's men in uniform do," Fellers added. "God bless him and everything he stands for."

Bush's courage, sources say, was evident from the earliest stages of the war's planning. Though the Pentagon initially wanted an air war with minimal ground combat, Bush quickly dismissed this strategy, insisting that the only way a true and lasting victory could be achieved was to go in and fight—dune by dune, village by village—until Iraq was finally free.

White House sources say Bush's decision to place his own life on the line for his country met with resistance from top military leaders.

"The Joint Chiefs of Staff kept telling him, 'Mr. President, we beg you—stay here in Washington, where it's safe.' But George was having none of it," said Maj. Gen. Buford Blount, commander of the 3rd Infantry. "He was adamant that if our boys overseas were going to risk their lives for liberty, he was going to do the same. And, by God, he proved himself a man of his word."

The president has only been in battle for less than a week, but he has already proven himself more than willing to put himself in the line of fire.

"The president carried me through an enemy minefield after my arm had been blown off by a mortar shell, blazing away with his pistol as he delivered me to safety," Pvt. Chris Adair said. "Then, after he'd gotten me to a medic, he went all the way back through that same minefield—carrying a 40-pound bag of ice the whole way—to retrieve my severed arm so the doctors could sew it back on. Now, thanks to President Bush, I'll still be able to play piano for the church choir back home in Appleton, just like I promised Grandma. He is truly an American hero."

Adair's comments were echoed by many of the soldiers fighting alongside Bush.

"I used to be cynical about politicians who are born into privilege and wealth. I thought, 'Sure, they talk a good game about our duty to protect democracy, but when push comes to shove, they'd rather send off the nation's poor, uneducated, and underprivileged to do the fighting for them,'" said Pvt. Frank Elkins, 19. "I always figured they'd rather see somebody else die in some foreign land than make that sacrifice themselves. But now I know I was wrong."

"There may be some folks out there, born silver spoon in hand, who'd act that way, but that ain't Bush. No, that ain't Bush," Elkins said. "He ain't no fortunate son."

Well, I guess it's only fair that we tell both sides of the story.

Jim, tell us about the Bilderbergers and the black helicopters.

I don't usually get too deep into these discussions because they don't mean much. I don't know about some of these so-called sources that use doctored pictures to bolster their arguments. I try to stay with at least fairly reputable sources, because you can find anything to back up anything you want if you hunt hard enough for it on the Internet. I also try to do like my Granddad Slim used to tell me and use my damn head for something other than a coatrack.

I have worked in the oilfield before. There are a limited number of reputable, well-known companies with the resources to fight those oil fires. If you take out of the running any who might have some connection with someone in the White House you might as well take some weenies with you when you go over there. This knowledge does not mean I am a "by God hypocritical Republican money-grubbing thief".

I also was an infantryman for over thirteen years. I don't know if any of these "doves" realize it or not, but you tend to be a pacifist on some levels when you were the guy who was going to get his ass shot off. You also tend to be a realist and know that you are going and not all these people in the rear (Civilians, politicians, etc.). If the politicians were going then it might not have come to this. But this is not reality and we can only do what we are supposed to do.

On the subject of free speech, this is one of the rights we defend. Everyone has the right to express his or her opinion. When we are at war, however, the troops need our support. They watch TV too. How do you think they feel when they see some cock-eyed American celebrity in a foreign country spouting off about the war when someone was just lobbing a few grenades at them? People need to think before they exercise their rights. This is a democracy. If you don't agree, then thats fine and you can say so. However, if the majority doesn't agree, then that is that, you lose. Can anyone point me to a reputable poll that shows less than a 50% rating of support for the war? Can anyone point me to a poll that shows over a 50% disapproval of our president? Nuff said!

wars are always popular especially when they take place else. Jim when the job is done then we will know the truth about Bush 43. Meantine it is to late to stop the changes his actions will create. A new super power (or block contries acting togther) will arise thanks to his dipomatic skills and we will have to deal with that.

Subject: Got Your Back

I am a small and precious child,
my dad's been sent to fight....
The only place I'll see his face,
is in my dreams at night.
He will be gone too many days
For my young mind to keep track.
I may be sad, but I am proud.
My daddy's got your back.

I am a caring mother.
My son has gone to war....
My mind is filled with worries
that I have never known before
Everyday I try to keep
my thoughts from turning black.
I may be scared, but I am proud.
My son has got your back.

I am a strong and loving wife,
with a husband soon to go.
There are times I'm terrified
in a way most never know.
I bite my lip, and force a smile
as I watch my husband pack....
My heart may break, but I am proud....
My husband's got your back...

I am a soldier... Serving Proudly, standing tall.
I fight for freedom, yours and mine by answering this call.
I do my job while knowing the thanks it sometimes lacks.
Say a prayer that I'll come home. It's me who's got your back.

Through history, and partucularily now, we all sleep better at night because our male and female warriors sleep like they have to. Regardless of why they are there, they are there and need our support. History will tell us if it was the right thing to do. Personally, I feel it was the right thing to do and the right time to crush Little Adolph.
