I was just wondering if anybody knows a GOOD company or how to go about and get a State Farm Certification. Or any other certifications that may be needed for a newbie.

Thanks for atking the time and reading

My understanding of the process is that you have to sign up through a vendor for State Farm.  Pilot, Eberl's, Worley, EA Renfroe, and I think The Walker Group are some.  Once you are "on" with one of the vendor's then they push you through the certification process.  Whether it is State Farm, Allstate, USAA or Farmers, you have to go through the vendor.

Good Luck.

Eberls for State Farm and USAA
Worley for State Farm
Renfro for State Farm and Nationwide
Pacesetter for American Family and Farmers
Amcat for American Family
And the list goes on and on. There are many more I'm sure, but that will keep you busy for a while. Not money makin busy, but busy.

Worleys requires you to go through the State Farm IDL class first then they will Cert. Can anyone help with how to find out where S. F. Classes (IDL) are held? Nothing on any site I have visited. Thanks in advance.

Worleys has had them at the State Farm office in Dallas, TX and I'm sure other locations closer to their office. Eberl's has had the classes at their office in Colorado, I believe at their Lakewood office.

The State Farm web site won't provide you with any info. regarding the locations. You will need to contact the particular IA firm that sponsors the class.

Hope this helps.

I think you will find that the IDLs are offered at every State Farm Regional Office in the country and also in Toronto, Ontario at the same time on the same dates.  At least that's how it was done the times I took it as a staffer and as an independent.  Be aware that the Texas ones fill up first, but some of the others may still have lots of room.  One time I was the only person sitting in the big lecture hall in Toronto while the Texas folks were standing room only and turning people away.  If you can't get in close to home, travel a couple miles across a state line or two to the north of you and there will probably be room.

I received my SF cert after Katrina, along with about 10,000 other people.  But, I know you can get it without waiting for a catastrophe.  I used a buddy as an assistant while working a hailstorm, and as soon as we were finished, he went to Houston and took the IDL thru EA Renfroe.  While he was at it, he also received his Nationwide certification.  The SF IDL is scheduled at various times throughout the year.  You should be able to contact any of the aforementioned IAF's to find out when the next one is.  I believe there are about 4 per year.  They aren't always in the same place.  I took mine in Dallas, and as I mentioned, my buddy took his in Houston.  I know Worley held one in NOLA a few months ago.  They had it on their website for a while advertising it.  Check websites often and call them and ask.
