I got an email from  a co. that offers cont. education          courses/ hours online.

I would like to know if anyone has used this co. for their states CE Requirments. The price is right. $39.00 for 12 hours. Any advice is appreciated.

Haven't used that one, but I can tell you that www.webce.com was incredibly boring and tedious and that www.cceducation.com was much better.

>>Haven't used that one, but I can tell you that www.webce.com was incredibly boring and tedious<<

David, I second that emotion. It seemed like the individual segments were interminable. I found myself writing emails while I took the modules. [Edit: Sorry, I was thinking of a different online class, presented by a vendor...WebCE was actually really easy and convenient, even if I didn't learn much. The Commercial 10 hours was the hardest]. On the other hand, taking their online classes was incredibly inexpensive. The 40 hours of WebCE that I took cost less than the gas I used for a single round-trip between Houston and Ft.Worth for a WPS (vendor) seminar.

>>and that www.cceducation.com was much better.<<

My TX license is up for renewal at the end of this month. I will check out your other link in April, when the CE hours can be applied to my next licensing period. At last count, I had over 140 hours of CE for this licensing period, so any additional hours would be superfluous as far as meeting DOI requirements.

I'm finding that the AIC course materials are much more challenging than any CE courses I've taken.

I haven't really looked into it but this one

https://www.ceu.com/main.asp

offers access to all their online courses for one price of $129.00. I fulfilled all of my past CE credit requirements online and no matter how boring it was it is still better than paying for gas, hotel, travel and seminar put on by the vendors. Unless a vendor is offering a free local seminar in your area online is now the only way to go. Frankly I get pretty upset when I think about the vendors wanting to charge for their seminars so we can then go work for them when they know they need us as much as we need them. They need us even more so. If there were no vendors then we would be contacted direct from the carriers. Paid seminars for certifications and the like are just a way for them to line their pockets at our expense. Ok sorry for the ranting, yes online CE courses are the way to go and highly recommended.

One final note.  Make sure your online courses are approved by your specific state requirement.  I did pay for, take and pass an online course that was not approved by the state of Florida DFS so it was wasted time and money.  Although I still learned a little.

WebCE is awesome! Completed my 30 hours in about 6 hours. Sure beats driving to classes and sitting through hours of stuff you've heard a million times already.
