Any tips on getting my foot in the door as an independent Cat adjuster?  I have held my license in the state of Texas but have not moved!  No calls, no adjusting jobs, no "experience".  When looking at some agencies, they are looking for experienced adjusters.  What can I do?  I can be called for states from Texas over to Florida.  Am willing to move on a moments notice with a portable secretary and office!  Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated )or any connections!  (Also, I have been in law enforcement for the past 7 years.)

WOW that stands for waiting on weather. When a major hurricane hits the main land of the USA you will get your chance. I would read all the do it yourself books on platform construction and other trades that go into building a frame dwelling. You can find all you need at Lowes for less than $100.00 Look in the Yellow Pages of the phone book and locate contractors who do insurance reconstruction jobs. Ask to give you a shot as an estimator trainee..... then WOW this may be the year and it may not.

How many days, weeks or months did it take for you to be turned out to be a peace officer. It will take about the same amount of time to become a catastrophe adjuster. Learn to be a scoper-computer person before you try to be an adjuster. I really think you will not be worth much until you have been trained by another adjuster for 6 months

The difference though, is that you don't have to wait for a major crime spree to become a cop.

Just start contacting other states with reciprocal license agreements to Fl.,  fill out the forms, pay the state fees, and wait for your license.    Your already in FL, so thats real good.  I was always told the other 2 "must haves" are the TX and OK licenses,
