I can't figure out if this renews my faith in the legal system or reinforces my skepticism.
No one is absolutely worthless, at the very least you can serve as a bad example.

Zach Scruggs sentenced to 14 months and $250,00 fine. Gosh I hope that fine wasn't too steep. It would probably be equivalent to me getting a $100 fine for a traffic violation. Here is a link to an article about the sentence.

Best part about the fine is the Gov't recommended $50K and the judge bumped it to 250K, part of which is to pay for his own cost of being in jail. Now that is a royal slap in the face by the judge. Chump change to his father, but I don't know what the son's financial position is like
