During Katrina I was speaking to a claims examiner for an insurance company and reported that he was seeing a lot of reports from adjusters  that had no signature block or no contact information and he commented that to him this was very unprofessional.  He had other unprofessional acts to report and I will share them in this forum.  If you have any unprofessional acts to report please share them with us. Knowing the problems can be one of the first steps to improvement.

Roy, it seems the estimating program and the final version the  insurance company gets is the name of the game. Exactimate and thecarriers who will only except thier profiled  can be changed after the author unloads the "claim" have devised a tool that can be used to close thousands of claims in a short time frame. The person who "eye balls" the damaged property is step one.The person who reviews the log sheet, scope notes, photos of damage,FIRST estimate of damage (that no one see's until approved) is the "real" adjuster as changes are made for approval of the submitted data without the authors knowledge.

Remember about 3 years ago when an old adjuster post on the net FICUS TREE, well this is the enhanced version.

Seems the jury gets upset with the carrier when the chief hired engineer changes the field engineers report without informing the author. This may be the wave of future claims as eye balls will not have any authority to give opines or write complete estimates/reports.

This will remove many of  the problems adjusters have been wrestling with for years. In no particular order.

1. It has to be damaged and you cant see it now?

2. What will happen several years from now when I go to sell my house?

3. How could all this damage be 100% flood ?

4. How could all this damage be 100% wind ?

5. When I tell you something its a fact, are you calling me a liar?

Who ever is taking responsibility for the report/estimate should sign it.

I agree Mr. Smith, but the people who follow the bell cow seem to work more.

Is there an easy way to sign reports in xactimate without printing it out and uploading a PDF?
