Being an adjuster I was anxious to see how the claim was handled. First it was not handled by a cat adjuster, but the local staff adjuster from the agency office. I was not contacted prior to the adjuster arriving, two weeks after filing the claim, He showed up while I was gone and my teenage daughter was there alone. After asking if parents were home, and being informed that we were not, he asked to come inside and inspect interior damage. Of course my daughter refused. When I was informed this happened I called and left a message, a week later, my call was returned. I was an agent in my small town for 12 years, so we knew of each other, and have mutual friends, otherwise the call would not have been pleasant. 3 weeks later I recd a check. I promptly lost the copy of the estimate and made two calls, left messages requesting a copy. 8 months later, I still have not recd it. I just replaced my roof after a major hailstorm, I just came out of pocket for the deductible + difference.
