What size and brand ladder do most adjusters use?

I was on a roof yesterday and amazed the contractor had never heard of Cougar Paws so I mention them whenever I can.  They make a huge difference.

If anyone is interested, I have a pair of cougar paws (size 14) and replacement pads for sale. Just send me an e-mail if interested. Very reasonable.

Most adjuster's that I know, including Janice and I , use the Little Giant wing ladder. I feel they are the safest ladders out there. I highly recomment them having used Little Giant for 10 years now.

i give preference to the standard 20 ft extension ladder. For me it is easier and less aggrivating than those folding types, they catch way to  much for my liking when opening and taking down. With the extension ladder it is simply up and down. Additionally i have not personally seen a folding ladder longer than 16 ft, and that extra 4 ft makes a big difference for me.

May I humbly suggest that you stay away from Telesteps?

This particular brand was the ladder of choice as per management of a very large carrier that I used to work for.

I fell, another adjuster fell and suffered a severe injury to his arm (let alone his dignity) when we were in New Mexico.  I have returned two ladders for repair and the replacements were just as bad as the originals.

I have used a generic copy of Little Giant in the 17 ft version and found it to be very safe and predictable.

GW, Little Giant has a model that will extend to 23'. I have the 19' and it works fine for me. Janice has the 16' because it is lighter. Some folks don't have a ladder rack on their trucks or cars, so a safe folding ladder is the  way to go. With the Wing spread at the base, it is less likely to fall.
