    I am considering a position with ACI and am not very familiar with them. I have been working as a claims adjuster for state farm and as an IA with crawford for several years. Due to a forced move across country I am considering going to work for them.

    I would appreciate any feedback on the company. Are their fee schedules decent, treatment by managment, overall culture of working for the company...etc.

    Feel free to respond with a PM. Like I said, I am just looking for some general info, feedback and other peoples experinces with this company. I have been adjusting for several years as a salaried staffer and as a non-CAT IA in a major metro area on both salary and straight commision. I am far from new to the job, but clueless about the company and know no one who works there.

    It sounds like I am responsible for all my equipment, vehicle, computer...etc with ACI and would be considered a 1099 contractor with this new position.

    In short, you can safely establish your footing with them since they are trustworthy and do pay on time- on a monthly basis.

    Their fee schedules are fine- like everyone elses except for the MetLife account. So nothing new there.  ACI likes to hire those who have worked staff in the past since the money at 50% on the daily side is usually more than what they were making with the carrier. However, since there are no benefits, it can be pretty difficult to determine what is better and how to accurately define 'better'. I made my decision on the premise that you just can't put a price on freedom. I see that you've seen several set-ups, so I don't need to spell it out.  Their cat rate at 60% is average, so nothing exciting there either.

    I've learned that with some companies, it is safe to approach the fee split issue and there are others where you just don't. Don't with ACI unless you have another bird in your hand.  Just move on to another firm once that door opens.  An open door will be with another firm who knows what good talent is worth and is happy to pay you 65% or better.

    I moved on and work at 65% or better and have contently stayed busy working daily claims for several years.  However, I do have a firm whose base rate is 60%, but they change this split very often when justifiable reasons come up.  They (not ACI) are very good about offering an adjustment on the front end as claims are assigned.

    I have never worked for ACI. I know a guy who has and he says he knows they have 2 fee schedules an some accounts. The ones the TPA gets and the one the street adjuster gets. Also lots of windshield time and no milage.I think you can do better.Any vendor with Met Life has to toe the line,s for very low fee,s.The last USAA sched. I saw was stunning low.Lot, of very low schedules out now. These vendors should pay for the software. I just don,t see how any IA who hopes to make a living on regular claims for a long distance vendor can make a living with free milage, photos and AT least 3 hours from start to finish on a loss less than the deductible that requires all the paper work to get it approved.

    A typical loss in Harris County(Houston) would be a phantom auto hit a brick mail box at night. You would probably have to drive much more than 50 miles (in traffic) get a police report, work up an estimate in xmate, and spend 1/2 day. The other loss would be to meet a roofer to inspect the roof for wind lift on hurricane IKE (9-13-2008) that was turned down as less than the deductible back in January of 2009 that will probably end up in a law suit. If the roofer says it will not go away unless its a total loss(and you do not think so);,( thats not how you we taught in the Haage school).Now your instructions was to just call it like you see it and let the carrier make the call.{but, is that what they really wanted, or did they want it to go away}?

     The company has a 2.5 rating in the CADO Directory, 5 is the highest,  In the Feedback Center 67% of the voters favor the company,  no one has recommended them in the "Which Employer would you Recommend" Survey yet.
