I am currently treading through the online adjusting class.  I have been a licensed agent for seven years in coastal Florida and for the past two years, Texas.  Although I do have extensive property and casualty knowledge, the only claims experience I can truly "claim" is the acting liaison between the insured and the adjuster. ( I worked Ivan, and the other storms in the Pensacola area )  What types of positions could I realistically be capable of obtaining?  ...and with what proficiency?   Any advice and/or comments are greatly appreciated.

Carolyn, I would try Inside adjusting, Fast Track 1st. Good way to earn good money and learn the environment & Estimating systems.

Carolyn, my suggestion would be to contact Pilot. Pilot handles claims for State Farm and Allstate. Generally Pilot has a wide range of jobs, from pure clerical to legal positions. My neighbors here in the park are working in an information trailer for Pilot/Allstate.

I am unfamiliar with "FastTrack".  I am assuming that is a claims company?  I'll check it out.

Thank you for your responses.  I have taken a look at Pilot.  That is where all of 'our' adjusters came from during the storms in Pensacola--well, the ones they placed directly in our office.  They stayed with us for about a year and  left a fantastic impression on all of the agents.

Also, I am a little confused as to the certifications necessary.  Are the wind/flood certs required regardless of what field of  cat adjusting that you are involved with?   (IE:  inside verses outside)  Are these typically one day classes and can any of them be completed online?  I have tooled around the internet for answers but I have found conflicting information.

Thank you in advance!

Carolyn

Fast Track is simply, desk adjusting a claim through the use of information that the Insured faxes or emails to you and phone conversations. This is in an attempt to close the claim without the need for an adjuster to inspect the loss.

Thank you for the information.  I think that is a perfect route for me.
