Thanks for your reply Steve, so if I am reading the correctly only a company can apply for emergency license?  So an adjuster can't is this correct?  I really can't believe LA isn't reciprocal to Texas license, thats crazy to me.

That may well be correct as I heard that the IA's who are doing work on behalf of a carrier I'm doing stuff for had to get somethings taken care of from the carrier end. Not sure exactly what as I'm not dealing with either Gustav or Ike dirrectly per se.

If you ask me LA Is protectig their Taxpayers, and MAKING Adjusters Be licensed. No MORE Texas $350.00 to get a license wannabe's ....... Bottom Line if you want to do Business as an Adjuster in La, Apply for and take the test for Non Resident License. Simple Enough isnt it?

JT either things have changed, or you have gotten bad info. I have had my LA lic for a year, and used my TX lic to avoid taking the test. Should be able to print out the application from LA Dept of insurance website.

LISTEN UP, FOLKS,

IF YOU TRY TO ADJUST CLAIMS IN LOUISIANA WITHOUT A LA LICENCE AND GET CAUGHT, YOU WILL BE PUT IN JAIL. THIS IS FROM A 30 YEAR VETERAN ADJUSTER THAT TRIED TO GET A NON RESIDENT LICENSE IN LA.

SEEMS THEY ARE TOO BUSY TO ISSUE ANY NON RESIDENT LICENSES AND THE ONLY TEMP EMERGENCY LICENSES ARE ISSUED TO CARRIER DIRECT EMPLOYEES.

SURE AM GLAD I DID MINE 6 MONTHS AGO.

BE VERY CAREFUL, THEY MAY BE WORE THAN NC.
