Hi, After 20 years running my own specialty automotive business, I am ready to make a change and I want to work for one of the major insurers as an auto claims adjuster, specializing in catastrophe claims. I want to go in with a strong resume to go along with my experience in this area. I plan to get pre-certified in the estimating software Exactimate, Claim Force, AudaTex, CCC etc. What would the top two software applications used by say State Farm and Progressive or the other majors? Any specific tips would be appreciated. I currently use an old version of Mitchell. And BTW, I am in Alabama.

    Thanks!

    Chris

Look up ADA or PDA both of these are independant auto crash estimating franchise in major US cities and try to get on with them. At lease they could answer your question about the software Auto Damage Appraisals & Property Damage Appraisals. Contact Pilot in Mobile, AL. they are always looking for auto IA's on hail & flood losses.

As far as State Farm, They use Mitchell and ADP, Farmers uses Pathways. I believe Progressive also uses Pathways but I could be wrong. There is really not much difference between any of them. If you used one at your shop, the others will come pretty easy.

Get IICAR certified. Any body shop can tell you when and where the classes will be held.
