    Tom passed away on 1/23/2010.  He was a long time member  and supporter of our community and will be missed.

    We have attached the Obituary that listed in the Texarkana Gazette, the local paper.

    We wish to extend our condolences to his family and friends.

    Here is the Obituary;

    "Tommy Ray Strickland, age 62, 01 Texarkana, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010, in a local hospital.

    Tommy was born September 15, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Coon High School in 1965. He served as a firelighter for the Metro Nashville Fire Department for many years before moving to Texarkana in 1981. There he became an insurance adjuster. He liked traveling 'on the road' during his many years working as a CAT adjuster. At the time of his death he was a claims manager for Action Claims Service, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Arkansas, and a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Mack and Gladys Strickland, and one brother, Jimmy D. Strickland.

    Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Brook Strickland of little Rock, Arkansas, and Sarah and Nick Johns of Texarkana, Texas, one sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Don Clark of Nashville, Tennessee, one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Beverly Strickland of Nashville, Tennessee, two beloved grandchildren, Connor Humphrey and Corley Johns of Texarkana, Texas, his former wife, Margo Strickland of Texarkana, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

    Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Arkansas, with Revs. John and Susan Arnold officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. Arkansas.

    I knew Tommy for a year or so and he had a funny story for every situation we talked about. He loved to laugh and I very much enjoyed working with the man. He will be missed.

    I did not know Mr. Strickland, but I wish to extend my sympathies to his family and loved ones.   May God comfort you during this  time of loss. 

    It's always a sad day when we lose one of our members in the adjusting family.
