Has anyone ever tried the Mobile Air Desk? This is the laptop stand that is secured by folding the passenger seat and inserting the frame.( No drilling or attaching a base. )  The web-site makes it look easy to use and quick to set up and remove. The laptop can be secured to the stand with Velcro straps. The reason that I am checking this model out is that I keep my DeLorme up and running while driving but move over to the passenger seat( I am a southpaw ) to write the estimate and do paperwork on site. Since I do not want a permanent stand taking up space, this looked like a possible soloution. However, before I invest I was hoping to get some feedback as my major concern is whether my computer will go flying if I have to slam on the brakes. My other solution is to stick to the tried and true method that has worked for years - use heavy duty Velcro to attach the computer to the vehicle console or set. This works great except things get a little sticky when the temps start to heat up.

I like my Jotto Desk.  Very sturdy and well built.  You can us it in either front seat as well.

They make many mounts that do not require any drilling into your car.  Almost plug and play.

 Lowes or HD, plumbing section, start from the floor or console, install1/2" black pipe with floor flange, 12 or 16" pipe,  one 90 degree elbow, 2 to 4 " strait pipe, another elbow  and another floor flange screwed to the underside of a piece of plywood, cutting board, whatever.  Im a contractor as well and have installed these in our diesel box trucks, pickups, suv's, Jeep wrangler, Diesel MH, you name it.  Cost is under $10 total.    Good luck.
