From NHC related to area 2.

THIS DISTURBANCE IS SHOWING NO SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION...AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO BE UNFAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT.
How does that saying go.. it ain't over until .. Is she singing yet?

My managers keep saying "two years without a hurricane is unheard of...can't happen". I just set back and remind them of the 2006-2007 years. They call me a pessimist. This is why I sock back the $ and pay things off ASAP. With the air and waters starting to cool off, likelihood of a hurricane is steadily diminishing. I think its time to start that back yard project Ive been putting off.

Hurricane season has been over since August -Early September, the steering pattern was set in place back then. Hopefully, 2011 might bring hope.

"Hurricane season has been over since August -Early September" Strange comment as we tied a record for most names storms in Sept. The CV season is done, lots of storms lots of ACE (accumilated cyclonic engery) but no landfalls in the CONUS. Mexico Bermuda and Newfoundland would not view this as a quite season. I expect another round of storms befoe the month is over and storms in the Western Carribean can surprise. Meanwhlile don't give up your day jobs.

Can't say what Tex wrote is ridiculous. He does say that there were a lot of storms but no CONUS land falls and September ties the record for most named storms. He is spot on when he said that September pretty much set the tone for the rest of the year. There are still heavy fronts comming down from the North, West and Northwest that will keep activity out of CONUS. It is now 56 degrees in Upper FL and water temps are cooling off fast. Texas is also getting cooler weather as well. There may be a chance for some Carribean activity but untill the high pressure systems die down, nothing will hit here.

So all those that know how to work freez claims (ice dams, broken pipes and the like) you may want to get ready. Been predicted that Winter temps will be below normal across the US with the excetpion of the Northeast.

Where does he say there were alot of storms just nothing on CONUS, I don't think we are reading the same text( kinda like the earlier text that you haven't responded to yet ;-)  )

I stand corrected. I do agree with Tex that the season is pretty well over. And it was Older than Dirt saying that CONUS has been spared. But to say Tex's comment was ridiculous is wrong. Tex is looking at it from the weather patterns that have been going on and unless those fronts do cease he will be the one to say I told you so.

    You are right,
using the word ridiculous was not necessary, I am sorry Tex.

sidenote: Rocke, you haven't wrote back on one of our discussions on the other site, I wish you would.
