If you already have the required CE units, I would say it's worth renewing . Once you aquire a license I always tell people to keep them. It's always easier than starting over again. These past two years dry spell won't last forever, the odds are against it.

If you renew your license, you can always go when called.

    If you don't, you can't.

I would suggest you invest in some classes, some IAC courses, perhaps some online stuff, and add to your resume.

Ya just never know when something is gonna break. There's tornadoes everywhere down here in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, etc

Danny, St. John is correct...CE's are necessary to renew a Texas license even if you do not have to show them at renewal you have to be able to prove you have them if asked. If you spent the time and $$ to get ready for an event it seems to be a waste to not renew. I had to make the same decission this year and renewed Texas and applied for Louisiana.

Danny, if it is your intention to stay in this profession, you should acquire as many out of state licenses as  you can, particularily in those states that have the highest liklihood of catastrophe. If you have an existing out of state license, hang on to it. Surely there was reason that you went to the trouble to attain it. Non resident licesnses, as a rule, are not difficulty to get due to resaprocicity, costly, but not difficult. Being from Arkansas and having been licensed here for 48 years, Janice and I have the Tx., La., Ok. licenses, along with Florida, I think. There is a ton of work in Tx., Ok., and AR. right now. I am glad we have those licenses.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
