Miami, Florida (AP) — State authorities say two insurance adjusters have been arrested for allegedly defrauding insurance companies out of more than 400-thousand dollars following the storms of 2004 and 2005.
Jose Manuel Soler and Ariel Fernandez of Coast to Coast Public Adjusters were each charged with 104 counts of third degree insurance fraud, 104 counts of third degree grand theft as well as one count of first degree organized scheme to defraud.
The pair allegedly submitted 75 forged contractor agreements to Citizens Insurance, resulting in an overpayment of more than 300-thousand dollars. Another 29 documents were submitted to the Tower Hill Group, resulting in more than 125-thousand dollars.
