I'VE BEEN ON DUTY WITH MID-AMERICA (AMERICAN FAMILY) SINCE MAY 15th AND HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO VISIT THIS SITE SINCE THEN, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT MID-AMERICA HAS BEEN A GREAT CO. TO WORK WITH AND HOPE THAT THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A LONG RELATIONSHIP.

I worked for mid-america in chicago & i have received $6000 so far & should have the rest soon (if a vendor pays within a month thats great). I have worked for American Family numerous times & feel that all the past times i worked for american family they have been wonderful. The chicago storm was very trying on my nerves as well as other adjusters. The chicago storm was an exception & i hope it never happens again.

Bout time someone came to Mid-America's defense. You simply cannot operate in this field without a quality product. Both personal and work product.

i worked for mid-america some last year, and year before last, and think of everyone connected with their operation as just good people. they, like a lot of other venders these days, liked to pay the adjuster after they themselves have recieved payment from the carrier but, if you can handle that, i think they're a good bunch to work with. i found them failingly courteous, polite, honest, business-like, and prompt. i don't believe any of that bunch would knowingly treat anyone unfairly. and i think it's way out of line to even suggest that an outside adjuster go in to review their files.

I was called by Mid-America 05/19/00, and was asked if I wanted to work Auto claims in Chicago. I informed the caller named Shelia that I would work the Auto but I first needed to know the pay rate. I was called by George, with Mid-America later that afternoon. George informed me the job was writing auto appraisals only and staff ould discuss the estimate and write the check based on my appraisal. George stated that Shelia had told him that I requested the pay rate and I stated yes, I wanted to know before I traveled to Chicago. George stated the pay was based on a day rate. He gave me the figures which was $75.00 more than the day rate for Allstate and $15.00 less than the day rate for USAA, without climbing any roofs. My only assignment was to write auto appraisals.
When I reported to the American Family Office there was no changes from what I was told before I left home. My only assignment was writing auto appraisals. The staff of American was more than helpful with any question I asked. The Auto Staff did not push us for closings or count numbers in any manner. We were told to just do the best we could and the ones we did not complete were worked the next day.I did not have any problems with the Staff of American Family or the Staff of Mid-America. I have received two pay checks since the assignment started and every time I called the office of Mid-America I was able to speak to the person I called or my call was returned ASAP.
I wonder if I was working for the same Vendor and Company that has received all the attention in the past.

This person has already proven that he spreads mis-information, (re: the post about my son) and I for one will place very little value on any thing else he has to say.

Attention "Joe Adjuster." I sat down with Mid America personnel this evening and heard THEIR side of the story. Now I want to hear YOURS! THEN we can COMPARE.

Folks. There are always TWO sides to every story.

If need be, I have volunteered to look at the files in question, and to bring in two additional seasoned adjusters to make an impartial decision as to the way "Joe" (and 2 others) may have handled claims for Mid America.

We will be happy to report our findings back to the CADO audience.

"Joe" I am sure our CADO audience as well as myself, are anxious for you to lay out your case against Mid America.

"Joe," as I said earlier, this thread is yours. Have at it!
