Well, the lastest date picked by anyone was 10/24, since we did not have a Hurricane hit the US on the 24th we do not have any winners.

A new prediction for you'll to think about.
Hurricane Keith - Oct. 9, 2000 - Golden Triangle area of Texas/La. Cat. 3/4. (GT area is Beaumont/Port Authur and Southwestern La. for those that don't know) This all depends on Keith turning to a more northerly direction after it crosses the Mexican coast line and hits the warmer water. Of course if it keeps on a NW direction, watch out Brownsville.

Posted on Tuesday, August 29, 2000 - 11:32 pm:

We still have seven visitors in the contest. I have added a spreadsheet to the Hurricane Page to show the contestants. Hang in there, September has brought some of the biggest hurricanes like;
  • 1900 Galveston Hurricane September 8, 1900
  • "Great New England" Hurricane September 19, 1938
  • Hurricane Hugo, September 21,1989

We still have plenty to time for a hurricane, the latest Atlantic hurricane on record is "Alice" which began on December 30, 1954 and lasted to January 5, 1955!

Question,

WE never cross bridges till we come to them, causes too much indigestion.

Winner is based on the FIRST posting to select the storm, date and state.

Posted on Thursday, July 13, 2000 - 9:36 am:

Dave,
Just wondering. If one were to be so lucky as to get a tri-fecta do they rake in the whole pot, or will it still be cut up between those who first guessed the date, state and name. In poker a royal flush beats all, is a tri-fecta going to be the same way?

Good Idea, had not considered that anyone in our trade would lurk in the shadows. (Naive boy scout training, i guess).

OK, Two (2) weeks from this date 7/6/00 or 11:59 PM on 7/20/2000 is the close of the contest entry.

Only one entry per person, unless your original date passes and then you can re-enter.

Wonderful to see all of you willing to participate?????????????

Posted on Thursday, July 06, 2000 - 9:21 am:

Dave, I think you should state a time limit for entries. Otherwise, everyone will wait until the storm is 50 miles from landfall. How bout entries in, by 7/20?
Dave (Dave)
Posted on Tuesday, July 04, 2000 - 3:26 pm:

New season, and a new reason to visit CADO.

Heres the deal. This is a three part contest.

1) Name the Storm, win $100.00.
Name the first hurricane to make a landfall on the continental USA.

2) Date the Storm, win 100.00.
Name the exact date that the EYE of the storm makes landfall.

3) Name the State, Win 100.00.
Name the State that takes the FIRST hit of the storm.

The entry should look like the following"
"Erin- August 3- FL"

So you have three (3) chances to win $100.00 or quite possibly a tri-fecta by guessing all three (3) correctly, and win $300.00

This contest is open to all that visit the site and have presented a legitimate e-mail address. You do NOT have to be a sponsor of CADO.

IF a "CADO" paid up member wins the contest the prises will be increased to $150.00 per item.

This is a private contest, not sponsored by CADO, but rather by myself, in the interests of furthering the support and growth of the only web site on the net specifically focused on the Catastrophe Adjuster.

Take a shot, nothing to loose.
