Right now models show gordon to follow in Flo's flow. Can it escape and get west of 70, stay tuned. Also expect 94L by Wednesday (Helene to be), another CV fish?

margar, I certainly concur with the pessimistic view you purport. Yet, to strive for optimism when all seems lost is a virtue. Today (9/11) marks the first day after the peak of hurricane season.

Sadly sounds like Gordon has no independence, instead he will go with the flo. As one vulture said to another " to heck with the waiting I'm going to go out and kill something". Anyone know how to start a hurricane?

Mark, I start with a full one and don't stop until it is gone. Sometimes I might drink two. I thought you would be tired of hurricanes by now. I know I for one am glad it is slow, but I have been an IA before so I can understand the need for work. Do you think this year is kind of similar to the year Floyd hit?

Dirt There are still those forecasters or ( wishcasters) that are still holding on to that weakness in the ridge closing up and slamming the door on the north bound train for Gordon. Do you see this as a possible scenario?

Don't know, doesn't seem to be moving much but is strengthening. Tail from Flo in front and an ULL to the NE, moving towards it.

I am not counting on it doing anything but swimming. Maybe next year. Do you want fries with that?

quote:
Bermuda's worry after that: a new African wave A strong tropical wave with impressive rotation and plenty of intense thunderstorm activity has emerged from the coast of Africa today. Several of the reliable computer models are forecasting that this will develop into a tropical storm or hurricane that heads westward across the Atlantic. Wind shear is a low 10 knots, and water temperatures are warm. If this system does develop, it would likely recurve out to sea and not affect any land areas--expect perhaps Bermuda. Jeff Masters

The wave mentioned above is now TD8. Too far out to tell yet, but something looks fishy about it. The Bay of Campeche and Gulf look to be trying to brew something up. I need work like everybody else, but I was kinda hoping it would not be in the Gulf region this year. I like my new roof and sheetrock, floors, siding, etc...

They both tend to have a 'fishy' smell about them....both Gordy and TD8 (aka soon- to- be Helene), I suppose we shall see, eventually...
