No, Virginia and Maryland/Del. does not have a wind pool at all. Everything is basically written on a standard HO-3 contract, except flood of course.
New Jersey does not either, and I just wrote their insurance department, they will be only requiring a no fee registration for storm adjusters showing which company one will be working for. Keeping in mind New Jersey does not have a regular license for adjusters. |

Is it just me or is everyone wound up tighter than a two dollar clock and more nervous than a ho in church? |

I'll bring my Jimmy Buffett tapes to the hurricane party! But seriously, is there a chance at all of this thing being downgraded to a large, local storm by the time it hits land? I'm looking forward to working, but i hope i'm not disappointed again. |

Anything is possible but not likely. Then again it may hit florida or go out to sea. Expect a hurricane where exactly where and how strong? |

I look for a north turn after landfall, that may cause more wind damage and less flooding. All depends on how much it degrades. The closer it hugs the coastline the more wind( a wild guess). At first I thought it may head for WV and KY. That was six days ago. Now there are other evil forces at work. Better get that drinking water handy. Be safe out there. |

If I decide to go out I would love to attend a get-together, lots of folks I haven't met. I was in the aftermath of Hugo,(not in insurance). I will take my generator and lots of water. For Hugo, I had every thing loaded in my trailer to keep me self sufficient for several days. I got my job done, 7/14 and was out of there in 11 days. I could of stayed and made some big bucks but I had a business back here that needed attention, not as much money but more commitments. |

Well, is dry air entrainning and is she weakening, or is she organizing and possiblely strengthening? Is morehead city the target with a bend west and a visit to one vendors hurricane party in Raleigh or will it roll over Kill Devil Hills and then into and up the Chesapeake? Still haven't shaved this week, the big game is tomorrow and we still arn't sure who is the starter? |

Well, the outer bands are reaching shore and still where is coming in. She is heading for Chesapeake now but is expected to turn before landed, if it's soom then Willington , later Morehead city and little or no turn the outerbanks and into Virgina Beach area. And, she has cat 3 prefile and winds at flight level, will the stronger winds make it down to the surface? My quess will be more north and cat 3 at landing |

I look for lots of damage from the Marine Base, North over much of Va. and maybe if it makes a right turn, MD and NJ. The winds on the north side of the eye will be the most destructive. I don't know if the south side is as populated with beach homes. I know very little about N. of Cherry Point to VA. beach but my guess is wall to wall business and homes. I feel like it will still be a cat.2 over Va. and cat. 1 over Md after it makes a turn. It very well could roll up the east coast like a big wheel. I agree with a cat. three at landfall. My original guess was Wilmington so I may have missed that. I also missed the date by two days, now if it don't hit at five oclock,I will miss that, close but no cigar. Wish I had paid more attention in ground school when we studied weather. It has become more interesting with the passing years. Ahh hindsight. |
