[:D]O.K. FELLOWS,
LETS SEE HOW THIS WILL COME OUT.
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MUCH A SERVICE BILL WOULD BE IF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS TO BE ASSUMED "FACTS".

ASSIGNMENT: APPRAISE,INSPECT, PHOTO,MEASURE,SCOPE, DIAGRAM, ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF 164 DIFFERENT BUILDINGS. SEVERAL OF BUILDINGS ARE IN ONE LOCATION, IE, APT. A WITH 64 BLDGS. APT B WITH 72 BLDGS. ETC.
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE JUST AN APPROXIMATE, OR EXACT IF YOU CAN GET THERE WITH THE LIMITED INFORMATION, THE KICKER IS THE SERVICES PROVIDED ARE TO BE ON T & E BREAKDOWN PER UNIT,ETC AND ESTIMATE. SO IN OTHER WORDS,(2.1 HR. FOR NO CLAIMS) AND (32 HR OR MORE FOR 400K)
IF I DID NOT MAKE MYSELF CLEAR, PLEASE USE YOUR THOUGHTS AS TO WHAT THE APPROXIMATE SERVICE INVOICE SHOULD BE.

BASICALLY, YOU INSPECTED 164 BLDGS,AN ESTIMATE PREPARED, WHETHER A NO CLAIM OR AS MUCH AS 425K, 545K,525K,800K THERE WERE 4 BLDGS WITH HEAVY DAMAGE ETC. ALL THE REST WERE LESS THAN 1000.00 OR NO CLAIMS. THE KEY IS ALL 164 WERE CLIMBED PHOTOGRAPHED DIAGRAMED AS IN INDIVIDUAL CLAIMS.
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE TOTAL HOURS WOULD BE OR AN APPROXIMATE SERVICE FEE WOULD BE. YOU CAN BASE YOUR HOURLY RATE ON 50--60--70 EITHER ONE.

THIS IS PURELY FOR INFORMATION AND SHOULD NOT TAKE YOU BUT A MINUTE OR SO TO RESPOND. I AM QUITE INTERESTED TO SEE WHAT YOUR IDEAS ARE.

[:D]IF YOU HAD THE CLAIM IT WOULD BE A NICE OFF SEASON HIT!

Tom were there any access problems with gaining entry into the units to inspect them? Were you able to freely inspect them without access restraints?

Haven't you heard of selling your report by the pound?

Maybe I'm missing something with this one, but I would bill it based on the total # of hours I put into the file, including travel time, all inspection time, estimate and reporting time, printing up pics, etc. Needless to say, it they are 2 story and steep, it takes longer to inspect and scope those so you are getting compensated for that. If it takes you 130-140 hrs to inspect that amount of building structures and put together your worksheets and billing it at $60 per hr that is $7800-$8400 for 10 to 12-12 hr days of work, plus expenses. That is if I'm reading it right and it is a T&E file and or files.

Tom, you mention they were all handled as separate claims. Did they have separate deductibles? If not SBeau is heading in the right direction. If each building has a separate deductible, then each claim has additional set up and reporting requirements and shoul;d be billed individually (similar to FWUA). I bill approximately 90% T & E. After saying all of this you may need to add up the bill and look at what would be reasonable to charge your client. Just my thoughts.

Iffen I was on the 'approved contractor' list, I'd a be a doin' this for El Goose Egg Deluxe!

Ain't that the secret agenda of this here exercise in futility? So, the fee bill to the carrier would be $0.00.

Well, the answers were, to say the least, varied.

JimF, no access problems and were 2 story and not steep.

Sbeau and DadX, the right idea was hourly charge or approximate to bill to carrier,i.e., 220 hours @ x = a fair invoice.

Ray & Ghost, I have no idea how to respond to your post as it might be a bit early for my mind to be that quick.

at any rate, thanks guys this topic was for info and i got a little of some and more of other.
