Todd, link didn't work. Which plan was there. Sonic cannons for hail, Telsa generators to modify world weather, or my old favorite dynostorm wanting to modify hurricnaes.

I heard they were working on a way to drop something like silica gel crystals into tropical storms to soak up excess moisture to prevent them from strengthening. Mother Nature always wins though. Tropical storms are natures way of transfering heat from the equator to the poles. If you interrupt this convective process you may prevent smaller hurricanes, but you will just be setting the stage for the Mother of all 'Canes in the future. Kind of like putting a cork in a boiling tea kettle.

This sounds dynostorm. http://www.dynomat.com/storm.shtml This site has not been updated for 2 years. I saw an estimate that it would take thousands of plane loads of this stuff to effect even a small tropical storm. Also there were questions about the test they ran. It also raises questions about what would happen in the long term. Would storms change direction (as it is suggested when the seeded a couple of hurricanes in the 60s? Hurricanes transfer heat ot the north form the equator, if we interfer with that process might this cause a super hurricane in the future as you suggest.
