These are some of my observations about the site http://www.hailyes.com

First, raised a skeptic, I am extremely wary of anyone who is willing to go so far out of their way for me.

Second, this quote bothers me -
"It is a win, win situation and at the very least you get the peace of mind of knowing that your home and family are safe and secure."
What about hail dmg to a roof or gutter makes you unsafe and unsecure? This statement is meant to throw the reader off, and get into their emotions, not their logic.

Third, this quote also bothers me -
"In addition, your individual insurance rates can not be raised."
Well, rate increases are made on whole categoris of homeowners at one time. But, the individual homeowner is in that group, thereby getting an individual rate increase. I don't disagree with this quote exactly, it is just a degree or two off of completely accurate enough to bother me.

And finally, this quote -
"When it is approved, we will install your new roof for the Replacement Cost that your insurance company agrees to. You owe us nothing, either way."
So they eat the deductible in every case? Well, if the work can be done for $1000, $2000, $4000 less than the insurance estimate, than why should the insurance company pay so much money for the roof in the first place? With 2% deductibles in place, this practice of "you owe us nothing" disturbs me? Are the homeowners getting a quality roof installation? Quality materials? I guess since they pronounce it right on their website, then if they try to submit for the FRC once work is complete we are all justified in paying only the net loss after deductible as the limit of homeowner incurred expenses?

Suffice to say, nothing on this site leads me to trust anything they say. Hope I never come across one of their "Contractor Associates." They sound like the kind of people who will be in my shadow during the entire inspection, not giving me room to measure or think.

Going to this guys web site and reading his profile, I find he claims to be a "Licensed Property Adjuster". As he is clearly in Texas, my question is, is that how licensed adjusters hold themselves out...as "licensed property adjusters" or as adjusters? Can you obtain a casualty adjusters license in Texas without being a property adjuster?

I think this guy is a property adjuster, a public adjuster! In Texas I believe a public adjuster can only handle first party property claims!

Masking his services by suggesting he can exam and review claim documents and than give advise might prove to be in some form of violation of Texas D.O.I., unless in fact he is a public adjuster advising his "client".

I wrote him and put the question to him directly, still waiting for a reply.

If he's a licensed P.A. in the State of Texas, no he's advising his client regarding a first party property contract for which Texas authorized him to do. Yet why hold yourself out as a hail whatever, just be what you are and compete in the market place fairly.

Did anyone else find it odd that the guy has the "trade mark" sign after the phrase "Don't wait until it's too late!"? How the hell can you trade mark a common sentence like that? I've seen this site before. Sounds like a bunch of schiesters to me.

I noticed that there haven't been any post's on his Job board for a couple years now.

And check this out, I came by this doing research about the MN law suit back a few years ago.

http://www.hailyes.com/attorneygenmn.PDF

I find it real hard to believe he personally wrote this letter.

"Claim Consultant" is a term often used by unlicensed PAs. Or this case, by a contractor who only wants to help.

Wonder if this contractor will continue to waive deductibles now that they are a percentage? Or maybe the insurance companies have all increased their pricing so that this business/ contracting/ model/ proposition can benefits consumers/ people and the CONTRACTOR.

Or maybe ReconMan is more fertile than we realized. I just don't understand why there are laws against retroactive abortion.

First... let us keep away from the ad hominen attacks and stick to discussing the merits, or lack thereof, of hailyes.com's information.

The letter to the attorney general is indeed interesting and does have the same logic in it that the roofer from Weslaco gave. And we have certainly hashed that one out!

As for whether or not Steve Ralston will continue to waive deductibles... if I were a consumer as long as it was on the website, and I was doing business with him (as if!), I would maintain that, in following the "truth in advertising" laws he discussed in his MN DOI letter that I should incur absolutely no out of pocket expense to have my insurance scope work completed... just like his website says.

I handled a wind claim today in Florida with a $12,500 deductible. Roof damage only, the entire replaced roof may run $5,500.00.
