After making the revisions to the forum I closed all but one area of the forum to public posting, I hated to do this because CADO has been an open forum ever since it was first created almost seven years ago. However, at one point last month I was about ready to shut the forum down but after spending that much time on it I just couldn’t give it up. Some visitors will say “it’s about time” and others will leave site never to post again. As many of you know one of the reasons for creating CADO was to “promote the growth and enhancement of the catastrophe claim handling industry through the sharing of information and resources”. That was in our "description” in 95 and it still is. If the forum no longer contributes to this effort then what good is?

As stated above you must now be a registered user to post. Also, since making the revisions the moderators can suspend accounts. Since the forum is no longer an “open forum” the moderators also have additional latitude both in moderation of the post and the posters.

Tom you are right on, I enjoy when people throw out challenges and debate issues, but too often instead of offering ides we see people offering half witted attacks. I would like to see the moderators suspend posting privledges when a response become a personal attack.

Tom I will work on myself and try to follow these ideas of yours when posting. In reflecting on my approach to things it is clear the Excessive-Compulsive trait is very strong in my family. Personally I have never had my feeling hurt by anyone on CADO but in the past some others felt that I should have been upset by some post directed towards me as a results of some of my post. Since I am not personally upset over any post from the past then I guess I just tend to think everyone else is like me. Eric tells me that is not the case because many of my post stress him as well. Thanks for your post and I will try to make post that is moving everyone forward in the future or not post.

FINALLY !!

Tom has struck another blow for solidarity. The post is accurate, timely and appropriate.

If heeded, perhaps we can get our train back on the track to success.

Don't everyone see what goes on here on the site? Just go back and look at what the posts and thread are and then you have the following:
A thread starts, someone ( anyone) posts, and then it is something bad or a slam or a opinion that someone (anyone) does not like. then after a few back a forth posts, slam me, slam you, slam anybody that ever adjusted a claim. After that, then nothing happens. NObody posts, nobody says, oops, I made a mistake, I researched, I did whatever and made the wrong post. If I stepped on anyones toes, I am sorry that I did, etc.
Then "NOTHING" is posted for 3-4 days. Just look at the history. I believe it is true.
Example, I ran across a post I was familiar (barely) with and instead of posting and keeping the slams going, I directly sent an email to the person and GUESS WHAT???? that was all it took, they realized from where I was coming and I realized where and what thier post was and intended to be.
Jest, of this post, Is that we all "SHOULD" just wait and post with something positive and IF it is negative, then send them a email AND if they don't have a address, post a responce like, I read your post and disagree, prior to me posting something wrong, or in error, please contact me so we may discuss.
I have talked to claims managers of various companies in the last 4-5 days and what I am posting is the truth. "THEY" are looking and reading and I don't know, but "THINK" they will not like us to be on a "cat" site with some of the posts we make.
Come on fellows, I have a lot of bitches, but if you reallly want to know what they are, email me and we will talk.
Let's take care of each other instead of slamming and "MAYBE" keeping one (1) or more from getting a call to work, because they poste something that makes us look like someone who cannot maintain their cool during a heated exchange.
Now, if everyone wants to send me a post with their opinions that I screwed up posting this, have at it, you and I are "all" of you and I will be the only ones that know.
Lets all be safe out there and go to work somewhere. (HOPEFULLY)
