The stock market will bottom in 4th quarter of 2005 regardless of who is in the White House is our internal working scenario at HRI. While there are no DOW numbers associated with this timing, I do personally expect to see the 6000 mark strongly tested. Based on this I can’t get excited about a short war. The time line of the bottom does collate with when current Administration predicts we will pull out of Afghanistan I learned this week from the news. The small investor is the one that finance the bubbles and it is going to take a few years for them to stop hurting or new blood to be found so the next long term high could be way down the road.
It gives me comfort to know that I am not in control of what happens. I only know that it is important to pray for the Leadership of our country. (Both sides of the aisle). I am sure I am naive, but I can't relate to the 'boom' of a few years ago (it's the Economy stupid) or the 'bust' of today. I have paid less for gas and I have paid more for gas (that seems to be the most noteable gauge to me). It's hard to believe what is happening in our culture, but hey I remember the days before the Wade decision. Remember when the extremists said euthenasia would be next? I haven't the foggist what's going to happen, but I can't believe that the same people who were tauting 'God Bless America' a year and a half ago are calling the President of the United States, Hitler.

Don, I do not know what the future holds but I do know Who holds the future. I do know there are needs that need to be met today and spending any great deal of time trying to know the unknowable does is not the best use of one's time. It is said that "we become what we thing about" so in that light we need to be careful what we think about. To serve is about the only reason I know to live. When we are not being of service to others then we are not sowing seeds so our harvest will be very short. Do you get paid for the claims assigned or only on the files where you were of service to others? The masses to not think, they react. I do think you express the feeling of several of us.
Don, you've struck upon the mystery that has been troubling me for quite some time. I just don't see how some people can think the way they do. I guess that's why we have to vote every couple of years.
I would encourage you not to be troubled by the mysteries. There has always been trouble (evil) it is not unique to our time. I guess what I am trying to be is.... slow to speak and quick to listen. (Hard for this Type A). Do the best and be the best you cam even when the whole world around you is going crazy. Stay tru and be a voice of reason.
