Our winter has been colder than normal, I have wondered what effect this will have on the tornado season that is on us. We have been getting close to normal rainfall so far. This I assume is the same throughout the southeast. Most occluded fronts don't seem to have the unstable air masses to the extent we normally see. All I can say is look out. There must be something big in the making. Guess we better get the pink flamingos off the lawn.
It got up to nearly 80 here in Baton Rouge yesterday. They are predicting thunderstorms for later this afternoon. If Clayton keeps sending the cold air down here in fronts every week or two and it starts getting back into the 80's and higher between the fronts with lots of Gulf moisture we are sure to see the fireworks. Hopefully soon.
Still no tornadoes. The longest run in many years. Looks like we may get a nice icestorm on the east coast. Got two kids in private school and no shoes to wear. Life is tough.
The grass is always greener on the other side, but it still has to be mowed!
We got the rain, and the NE is getting the snow. Looks like TN got some flooding. The season is just starting so if this is any indication, we may see some violent weather in the week or two. My pond is full pool now so the next rain will be going over the spill way. Maybe it will take some of the smaller fish out and restock the river. I don't let any one fish here unless they have a kid with them. I may have to revise that, it's about to get over populated.
I hope it is more than a few, because it has been a log dry spell for many. When the snow starts melting there may be a lot of flood work. A lot will depend on how fast it melts and if it is in conjunction with a big rain. I look for that to happen.
Rain is expected, look out! That is the worst kind of flood. Especially in Pa. We won't know till the Fat Lady sings. I also look for a boiling hot summer. Seems when we have a cold winter the summer is hotter. Our temp. has been 7 degrees colder than normal avg.
