Here is friendly food for thought to the wise adjuster considering an association with NCA Group in any capacity...TAKE FLYING LESSONS FIRST! This is a company that has ladened down many dedicated staff like pack mules for a trip to the top of the mountain for a glorious "sunrise viewing" and shoved them off the cliff before the light of day. Need proof? Simply ask around the industry... The latest charade with this proposed merger, including the making of a public announcement, the closing of multiple regional offices and mass "cannings" shows the willingness of the company to waffle down a path of self-destruction and poor business practices. The assumption on the part of NCA that good adjusters will stick around and clients will favorably respond in light of recent events cancelling the "alliance" is perhaps NCA's worse mistake yet. The thought from this perspective is that GAB upon closer inspection of the deal saw or will see little value in a leaking ship stuck on a stormy sea.
NCA Group has has problems for years, I was with them from 1997 until 2002 as a Multi Line Adjuster. This company has gone down hill since they have allowed their EVP to make any form of a business decision. there CEO had retired in 1999 and when he found that they were going down the tubes he decided to return. I think that they would have been out of business a year ago if they had not merged with an RMS company from Chicago. I know that they have the idea that when a storm hits adjusters will come running looking for work. Thus they will profit and be saved again. Just like they have been every year. If the merger would have gone through what would the name of the company be?? National Cash advance or Give away boys Inc.
