I am watching a documentary on the history channel about 9/11/2001. I can't believe how angry I am right now. None of this is new information to me but it just makes me so damn mad.
I think all Americans should see this footage everyday to remind us that there are people who hate us simply because we believe in freedom.
When I was a kid, I remember TV stations used to sign off every night at midnight by playing the national anthem accompanied by video of an American flag waving in the breeze. I think the FCC should require every station to play 15 minutes of 9/11 footage once a week.
We should never forget what has been done to us by those who hate us, and we should make every effort to make sure anyone who wishes harm on us is hunted down and destroyed.
I am watching the same show. My wife, who is usually a pacifist, said that she never wants to get numb to it and agrees with you 100%. Doing what we do for a living and getting to live here is amazing and something I never take for granted anymore. I was walking out the door on 9-11-2001 to look at several claims that day when my wife came in saying to turn on the TV as she had been told that something was happening in New York. I finally set down aroung noon and didn't even think to call anyone until later that day. First time I ever broke an appointment without calling at least a day ahead of time. The adjusters I know that worked up there were sure changed by it. I don't know why, but I think this anniversary seems harder than last year to me.
You are right, we should never forget. Not this or the many other Americans that have died at the hands of foreign factions that place no value on human life. Along with these innocent victims we should also remember every one of the millions of Military men and women who have given their lives so that we can know the joy of living in a country like America. However, is it fair to subject the victims families, friends and the survivors to re-living their nightmare in living color so that we will not forget?
I know I can't speak for the victims families, but if I was one of the victims I know that I would want to remind every living American as often as possible about the horrible thing that so few horrible animals did to so many innocent people.
