I don't know what else to do...... I attended NFIP workshop in Dallas March 2,2004 and mailed the form and certificate of completion to the address as directed. To date I have called three times and had my call returned three times saying I would be receiving my new NFIP card soon. To date, no card. I have sent my certificate of completion to my vendors but have no card to show.

Can I work flood without a current card ?????

Assuming not, what can I do to get my card ?????

Yes I received my first card and NFIP number last year, but they are supposed to be renewed every year. Plus the first year I attended, I only had two years experience and they certified me for mobile homes only. I assume that since I added one year and 500+ claims that I would also receive a higher certification rating.

They don't send you a new card every year. You just have to attend the seminar every year to stay certified. I have the same card they sent me 2 or 3 years ago. The only time they send you a new one is when you get a new certification.

I've been toting the same card around since they first started using them. The back of the card states "this card cannot be replaced if lost". I wonder what happens it they fall apart from guys carring them in their wallets. Can we get them replaced if they fall apart in pieces, I mean after all, they were not lost ....... !!!

If you have not received your new NFIP card, contact Frank Ward RWARD22@csc.com.
He can also be reached by telephone at 800-426-6347 ext 733.

Another route to go is to contact the Field Operations Supervisor Donald Waters, same number ext 731.

Administration stuff try to contact same number Ion Heard ext 491.

Good luck,

I NEVER received my card. They said they sent it, of course, but I have my number and so far, that has been good enough. I have talked to Waters and he has no interest in helping me obtain a card, since he said I obviously lost mine. Grrrrrr.

I made a color copy of mine on both sides, cut it out and taped it together, then had it lamenated. It might be flimsy but in a pinch it will work.

Good suggestion about the color copy, scissors! I made 2 sets and filed them away for just such an occurance!

Keep in mind that the ONLY way you can get a new card is if you change your certification level.

The letter I received along with the card stated that "new adjuster applications for certifications will only be processed between January 1 and June 30th of each year." My letter was dated June 26, so if you have not received anything so far, I would not be holding my breath about getting it this year! Don't you just LOVE them GUVMENT PROGRAMS?!!!

(SCISSORS - you don't have an e-mail posted on the member list. Drop me a note and we can get together for a cold one sometime in Houston when I get home!)

Goose is not NFIP certified. He is on the mailing list only. If he wants to be NFIP certified, reguest an application from the Bureau or he can obtain it at www.fema.gov.

I have a number that is current. And when I spoke with Waters he said that only one card was issued and a "replacement" would not happen. Yoursaid "not NFIP certified". Did you look up my name from my profile to determine that? If you have a way I am not aware of to obtain a card, I would sure appreciate that, but as far as being certified, the vendors I have worked flood for have said they are able to verify me as well as Waters was.

Pilot conducted 4 workshops in 2003 to my knowledge. Did the sessions include flood? Was there a representative from NFIP? Attached is an application for NFIP certification. Complete the form and return it to NFIP. If you meet the requirements you will be certified. It is a very simple process.

Brandi, check your email. I went to the FLOOD workshop that was taught by Tom Adams. I filled out the form you highlighted. I have a NFIP flood number. I have worked flood with this NFIP number. Lori Greer who works for Pilot said that NFIP was having problems related to a heavy flow of applications and Hurricane Isabel coming on the heels of a lot of the classes last year. Again, thank you for attempting to help, but are you saying that even though I have a current NFIP number, (and no it does not end in a letter, but ends in a numeral in case you were wondering- I understand there is a difference), that I may be uncertified?

Wonder where all this will go?  Probably behind the fact that all gas taxes are to be used to maintain the highways.

How long does it take to get your card from sending it in.  After reading these posts, I did not attach my cetificate to my application, should  I re-apply with attached certificate?

I just got my NFIP certification to handle all claims (Residential, Mobile Home, Commercial, and Condo).  I last was certified prior to the major changes to the flood policy and demand for recertification of all adjusters.  It seemed to take an inordinate amount of time, more than a month.  Then, when I got the certification from the Office of Homeland Security (which FEMA and therefore NFIP is under the umbrella of these days) I understood that there was probably some background checking performed prior to issuing certification and ID.  I did not attach any certificate to the application.  They apparently were aware I had attending a seminar in February.

I attended a NFIP workshop April 10th, 2006  in Humble Texas ,and mailed my application for certification the next day ( April 11th,2006 )
My question is there a Web Site available to see if they have issued a card yet with a assigned flood number?
I have called a few weeks ago and they said they were behind in processing applications.
I did send in my $10 fee and received a letter of invite to this workshop!
Also Filled out form for CE credits for Adjuster Lic.
