I had some jerk send me two emails about his post being in the "Post Awaiting Approval" status and trying to blame one of the moderators for placing his post in this status.  In most cases nasty emails just get deleted but I want to clear this up  in case other visitors encounter this.  First the moderators have nothing to do it.  It is an automatic action that takes if someone makes a post in area that they do not have full rights to. For example in order to post in the "Claim Handling" forums your profile must contain your First Name, Last Name, Location and Occupation.  In most cases we do not always enforce the "Occupation" requirement as long as the user respects the forum guidelines.  If you only provide a username and nothing else then when you post your post will go into the "Post Awaiting Approval" status unless you are a member of the "Guest" group then you will not be able to post at all.  In general the "Claim Handling" forums are for adjusters.   If you find you cannot post in some areas then check your profile and make sure it has all of the required data.   Please see this 7/2/2004 post for more information on forum access.  Bottom line, if you do not provide a full name you will have limited access.

For whatever is worth I think the site does an awesome job and I am sorry there is so much back and forth about titles, approvals, blah, blah, blah. Thanks for your dedication and most of all for your patience.

Careful, Roy, calling someone a jerk will get you labeled as having a "God Complex"!

What a sec ... you own the place ... oh, never mind!

John, we already do this to some degree, for example the "Adjuster's Den", currently only 221 out of over 7600 members have access to the Den.  Most people that apply for access do not get approved.

What an embarrassing statistic. 221 "Members" out of 7600 registered, have access to the adjusters den. This is an awesome 2.95 percent of all of the parties that play in this sandbox.

Every true adjuster should apply for access to the "DEN" where we can speak to each other without the trite commentaries, baseless dribble, and inane comments we endure on these open pages.

Lets have a "Den " meeting and deal with the issues that we need to.

Davey, I have no access to the "Adjusters Den", i.e. not allowed entry.

I had it / have it, or at least see my 'home name' (CCarr) in the "adjuster" area of members. But, with this new user name while I'm away, I can't get in.  The real problem is I can't find where or how to a "apply".  I looked around pretty good, might have missed it, but others might be similarly affected by not knowing where / how to "apply", or simply didn't know much about the "Adjusters Den" and its uniqueness.

Clayton

If you click on the forums link to view all forums you will see the link to the adjusters den.  Next to the link to the forum you will see a link that says follow this link to request access.  Hope that helps.

The reason for the low number is not because they have not applied for access, it is because most that do apply are rejected because their profile does not contain the required information.

Here are the requirements.

Insurance adjusters and other claim handling professionals. Your profile must contain, your First and Last Name, a from location and occupation.
