Mat, I do not know of any adjusting software systems that run on a Pocket PC system but there may be. There was one a few years ago that may have had a system at the PLRB in like 2001 but they have since left the market the developer told me some time ago. Xactimate and Simsol from my understanding used a Pocket PC more as a scoping solution but you still had to have a conventional notebook or desktop to complete a file. In another thread HP talked about the demise of the PDA’s like the Pocket PC. Today in adjusting the Tablet PC (while it functions more like a Pocket PC it also has a conventional keyboard attached) or the Slate (no attached keyboard) seems to be getting the most attention. Right now the power of the Tablet or Slate PC under the new Windows operating system Vista is unknown but when the hardware catches up with the new operating system the Tablet and Slate computers may become even more powerful with enhanced voice recognition as well the great handwriting recognition we see today. While PowerClaim XML has been running well on the Tablet PC for a few years the high cost and lower power has prevented the Tablet PC from going mainstream in the world of adjusting but enough companies have embraced the hardware to debug it for the most part. While the hardware is more field ready today the big advance was larger screens that are larger enough to be read by most adjusters and they are becoming more viewable in bright light conditions. The new $1500 price point is a plus as well which is about half the cost of a few years ago.

Mat, Symbility Solutions mobile claims software runs on a Pocket PC. The minimum hardward requirements for a Pocket PC are 64Mb of RAM, 128Mb is optimal, Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 operating system (including phone edition). NOTE: only Windows-powered devices are "Pocket PCs". Those that run the Palm operating system are not capable of running Symbility mobile claims. For additional information check out the website at www.symbilitysolutions.com or contact me at the number below. Regards,
