As someone who grew up in the age of peg board computers I require some tech assistance. What does everyone use to caption and PDF digital photos. I can manipulate the photos, I just can't get the caption to show up in PDF Any ideas on programs or help would be most welcome.

You can get free PDF writers on the internet and most photo software has the ability to annotate your photos. Most adjusting software has the ability to print in the PDF format.

It is a 2 step process: 1. Arrange and caption (label) your photos. There are a number of programs that will do this, a lot of adjusters go to this site: photoadjuster.com (14 day free trial). 2. When you print, you could choose your color inkjet printer for hard copy of the labeled photos. Don't do that - select the "PDF" writer (which will be one of the "printer" choices - IF you have installed a PDF writer program). Instead of printiing to paper, it will "print to file", in other words you give it a file name, such as Smith_Photos, or the claim #. Sounds like you need to install a PDF writer. If you can afford it, you can purchase the Adobe product. As mentioned in the previous post, there are some free alternatives, as mentioned in the following thread: http://www.catadjuster.org/forum/m_19341/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#19341 PDF stands for "Portable Document Format" and the free "PDF reader" will not do what you need, you need software to "write" the PDF document.

Everyone keeps forgetting that Word has a photo program. I use Intregriclaim and use the photo program in that system. It's trouble free.

Cowboy, I see you have been presented with several options. Being 55 and working with a bunch of college graduates that had computers in pre-school I think I may know how you feel. If you have 2 minutes then below are two short training videos that show how some adjusters wanted to do what you asked about in your first post. Click on http://powerclaim.com/videos/photos/ and when it opens to the Photos list of tutorials then please click on Adding a Photo to see a 54 second video of some ways we import and label photos. You can import all of your photos at once and you can print 2 or 4 labeled photos to a page or 9 photos without labels if you wished to do so for any reason. As with all features some adjusters requested these options. Next click on http://powerclaim.com/videos/email/ and when that screen opens just click on Email Reports and you will see in 42 seconds how the photos are automatically converted to a PDF attachment in an email that is ready to send as soon as you enter the email address and hit Send. Our Photo module can be used free along will all the modules for 30 days and at the end of the 30 free days you still have full access to all of your claim files so you can view, print or email, transfer to another computer, data mine, etc 6 months later or 6 years later. To download the complete and full version of PowerClaim XML property adjusting software (about 5 minutes with fast cable/DSL) just go to www.powerclaim.com and click on the word Download at the right side of the screen. Select the Run option and PowerClaim XML will install and set itself up. The first time you open our adjusting software a green box will appear that contains your Site Code. Just copy and paste that string of numbers into an email to support@powerclaim.com and someone will create your Site Key using the Site Code you email us and return it to you in the morning (on Sundays it will be after 2 PM). When you Copy and Paste it into the Site Key box and click Authorize you should be authorized for 30 days with the real thing. Remember PowerClaim XML does not ever lock you out of your claims that you entered when you were an authorized user. Cowboy there is not anything magical about the way we mount photos and send them seamless as PDF files. It is just another way some adjusters requested to skin a cat.
