Anyone that is interested in selling or working within the roofing industry- beaware of a company home-based out of Houston known as The Roofing Company or TimberRoof. Website is http://hailchaser.com/. I worked with this company from November to April of 2005, in anticipation of making a fairly decent income selling roofs in the Port St. Lucie, Florida (East Coast Area). They are not good at paying commissions to sales people! Also check out the Better Business Bureau for them out of the Houston area. For more information regarding this company contact CatAdjusterDavid@yahoo.com

I worked for American Building Contractors in Orlando as a salesman in October of 04 and they refuse to pay me my salary and commissions. I turned in over 40k in contracts and will have to end up suing them when I have the time. Two of the roofs I sold were turned down by the company and the homeowners deposits were given back. The company said that 240/sq for a 3 tab off and on was not enough money. Can anybody say; insuarance gouging? Remeber, ABC is is your enemy.

bill ferguson and his wife(owners) of timberrrof of houston are extremely unethical. he cheated me out 1200 dollars owed on salary and mileage and not commisson. that's his strategy , i guess, to get your last check hoping you won't sue. i sued . but what will really affect your paycheck is the extremely sub-standard work he does for his customers. i inspected over 100 installations in a 2 week period and clearly 20% did not meet minimum industry standards. thus homeowneres were not paying. i believe he settles to the detrimnet of the sals reps pay. additonally he has no supervison of installations, making the salesmen act as job foremen and inspectors over the subcontract crews. image of all the roofing ocntractors in the nation and ferguson and timberroof show up here. that should tell you everything you need to know. please , if you know of any homeowenr suing timberroof , direct them to me . i will gladly act as expert witness for them additionally the man acts very erratically and irrationally.

I'm new to the site & board, but I could sure give a few good stories about TimberRoof Salesmen I've met on adjustments. What a joke of a company, not to mention their salesmen are absolutely hilarious. I will have stories to tell adjusters for the next 20 years thanks to TimberRoof.

bill ferguson and his timberroof empire have left a long string of bodies behind them in the past hailstorms and hurricanes. Many of the heavy hitters in roofing today have worked for him sometime in the past. If there are any guys that worked DFW during 95 and 96 they will have delt with Bill in the form of a company called Dalworth Roofing. When I got released last year I looked around for a roofing company to sell for in Flordia. I ended up staying home because I could not find anyone down there I thought I could trust

I also worked for Timberoof last year and found that money was hard to make in selling Roof's to insureds with wind and hail damage. After meeting with some adjusters I switched to there side and now have a Texas Adjusters Lic. I do have to say thatThe Experience working at Timberoof was a learning one and I did enjoy working with the staff there. I was lucky that PilotCat picked me up and gave me the chance to work claims with the little experience that I had. I can say that I did good and made the company some goood money.
