Mr. Gower: Dont be too tough on yourself. Fourth months is not a long time, although everyone has to pay their bills. I have run several operations as a adjuster, superv, branch manager...but there was nothing like going out on my own to test my ego. I started on April. It took me till Sept to make real money. Between Sept and Dec I made more than my previous job and 3 times more than my first six months. I do not know where you live. But marketing is important. Did you burn any bridges when you left your previous employer? If no, then start there. Surely you knew other adjusters at other firms,..so contact them. I like your idea partnering. I live in a isolated area. I partner with firms in the mid-West and get a good book of business. In turn they get my strengths in customer service, depth in organization, and organizational skills. I am also an adjuster of 20 years, but that is no direct benefit to my informal partners. The key in my mind to a partnership, is that my counterparts would not embarrass me or themselves or expose my E&O. Just a thought. Write me if you want to chat about it. (riskmgmt@lava.net) Robin
