My Verizon phone worked without a hitch in AL, MS, LA, TX during the last storm season. In contrast, my T-Mobile phone and air card were a joke.

I have needed to upgrade my field computer stuff for several years now. I am the type person I need to know I did my best researching products before going to the check out register. Last week I went shopping knowing what I wanted purchace feeling the research was now going to pay off. The 17" screeen, HP Pavilion dv8000 Laptop with the Centrino Duo processor came in first with the laptops. The package came loaded having all the high tech trimmings that should make doing my job more proficient, anyhow that’s what I read having a price tag of $1500 Back to the Best Wireless Provider poll. My research on the HP Laptop told me I would need a wireless broadband internet card along with a service provide for the internet connection. The Verizon Broadband card and Verizon connection service was said to be the best on the market. The card after $50 rebate was $100 and $59 a month (2 year contract) for the Verizon wireless internet connection service the card used connecting. I did win in the negotiations regarding the $35 standard connection fee Verizon charged for each new connection. After getting past the wireless card and service I told the sales guy I would also sign up a cell phone account but only if he would provide me at no charge a new cell phone. I was able to saved $70 in connection fees and got a free phone for the asking. Its been a week with the new setup with my new Laptop, wireless card and internet connection service. All is working better and faster than I had hoped for, I have not lost connection even once. FYI.. For the price of $94 I installed on the Laptop DeLorme Street Atlas USA 2006 GPS software and setup the GPS hardware provided with the software. Last weekend did a little 500 mile road trip to KC, my laptop talking to me all the way telling how to get there. Easy to install and setup trip information.

Gale, I guess it must be in my blood. I not only find it rewarding when I'm able to save a buck I enjoy the challenge and being nice during negotiations. When I am at my best work is at a new car dealership buying a new car. During the early years of my marriage my wife would kick my leg under the salesman’s desk trying to get me to shut up toying with the sales staff. Now after 16 years marriage she enjoys the saving. Some years back I came across a 20 page story I found very interesting. The name of it was, ‘The Confessions of a Car Salesman” The 20 pages told all the tricks and finesse used in most all Dealerships throughout the country. I had a blast shopping for my next truck after learning the tricks and saved enough for a nice vacation. Got to go.. Later

Four of us were in LA and FL working last year. out wireless cards were three cingular (terrible) and one verizon. He had excellent service everywhere we went, while the other three of us spent most of our time arguing with cingular's terrible customer service ( by the way "I did press one for english, didn't I?") and driving around to try to get a signal strong enough to send our files in. But, we all had cingular phone service that was great.
