I'm working Katrina.  I drove all over New Orleans looking for a room, then headed North.....to Baton Rouge weaving in and out of "NO VACANCY" signs.  Slept in my truck :-(
Drove back to Dallas to get my trailer ready....but now I can't find a spot to park it.

Anyone know of a camp that is open in New Orleans/Mandeville area?

Land O' Pines Campground in Covington is trying to accomodate adjusters. They are currently full but get a couple openings per week. I spoke with them this morning. "Call every couple days and you will get a spot. If you get put on the waiting list, your name will get lost"
985-892-6023.

Fairview and Tickfaw State parks are tent camping only.

Abita Springs RV Resort will have openings next week with no waiting list. 985-892-3565. This one is a little off the beaten path but nice. (NOTE: If you're a golfer, this place is less than 1 mile away from Money Hill and Abita Springs Golf & Coutry Club. A little time on a driving range is always a good tension breaker)

I hope this helps!

Thanks Elliot,

That's exactly the kind of info I needed.  I have a place to park on some acreage outside Mandeville until the end of the month.  That gives me some breathing room to find a permanent place to lay my weary head.

Thanks,
Randy
