Korrupt -> Time & Expense Billing (7/26/2006 4:19:13 PM)

I know that the norm is 60%-70% commission for flat fee schedule depending on experience.

What is the norm in regards to commission for time & expense?  Is 39% of the time billed an acceptable commission rate for doing daily claims on time & expense?  Thanks.

This is for storm work out of town.  The local IAs pay much less as you can see. about 50/50of the time is good and they take an office fee 100% . milage and photos may have a split also.

I handle daily for a vendor and the commission stays the same.  I get 65% of fee schedule or 65% of T&E.

Storm Duty -> RE: Time & Expense Billing (7/26/2006 6:24:29 PM)

I normally get between 65-75% of the fee schedule or T&E regarless if it's a CAT or not.  If I get 65% of the fee, I get 75% of the miles and photos and 100% of tolls.

You haven't given enough background, or your particular circumstance.  If you are working daily claims for one of the "knowns" (not to mention names, but they are based out of Atlanta), and they are providing your vehicle and certain benefits.....the % you mentioned sounds familiar.  Plus you pay the gas, and they reimburse you a wopping 8-10 cents a mile (yes, you lose).  On the other hand, if you provide the vehicle & forego the limited bennies, they give you the going IRS mileage rate and the commish goes to 50% unless it's Cat Duty and they pull you from your branch assignment , then they might give you more but only if you ask first.  At least that's my experience.  May be different with this outfit's core Cat group, but if you're a daily claim worker...."know before you go".

Wes and others, you bring something to the table, 65 %  and 70% is not unusual and bring an account 5% of the first year and all the work is not unusual. Just find the right table wannabees.
