That is assuming that the Dr has a business contents policy and actually did the build out on the office space at his/her own costs and that the policy carries the I/B coverage which about every business policy does.

I was trying to get across how difficult it is to do an estimate in x-mate if it is not a residence, and not building coverage.

Tear out: mitigation activity, such as gathering, bagging, hauling to on site waste container wet insul, wet dry wall, wet carpet etc. Remove: disasembly of building products for either disposal or salvage.(would include prep of surface to receive similar material ( pull drywall nails from studs) Replace: procure, install LQ&K material to standard practice of the trade. Detatch & Reset: Disasemble componet & reasemble or re-install. ( dishwasher, toilet to allow for sheet goods R&R.) Lockset to clean for heavy smoke. Bi-fold doors to allow for R&R floor covering. Proper selection of activity provides a cleaner estimate. ( if you need to R&R a PH door you would only owe Replace or Detach and Reset on lockset, as there is no need to remove the lockset if replacement is called for. The PH door can go to the dumpster with the old lockset attached. Mr. Ray, x-mate contractor profile will let you customize reports. It takes a little time to set it up, but once set it is there to use again. Carrier profiles: Unless you are working with the area pricing specialist that has the codes you are out of luck.

Wow, Everyone is testy in here recently. Bill, my comment regarding X24 vs DDS or Integra as it's now known, simply was to state that Xactimate has no tear out option, only remove. One can then replace, reset, etc. I've used both programs, and Simsol, too, extensively. Should have expounded on what I was saying. Didn't mean to offend anyone. And, no, I haven't noticed any misspellings in your posts either. We all make misstakes (oops) and most are forgivable (sp?). I think that tolerance should be added to Roy's, AKA Cletus, statements regarding Knowledge and Attitude. The comments posted previously to mine regarding tear out vs. remove are in line with my thinking when using Integra. Tear out is demolition, Remove should be used when replacing or resetting the item. Of course, what operation you use is sometimes dictated by the carrier's preference and their guidelines should be followed, along with some common sense.

Paige,My apologies to you. I had just went a round with a unqualified Home Inspector on one of my houses for sale. He made a big issue out of the fact that we had painted the inside of the firebox on the fireplace with a 1200 degree high temp paint. He said that fireplace was now unusable. I gave him so much grieve about his qualifications that he hung up on me. Anyway....sorry. Big Bob,Thanks for the definitions. Any chance you could expand on them by giving examples of when you have used each operation. I know it sounds trival, but I am trying to get around something in my mind. Trader, That is why I like and at the same time dread your post! You always make everyone work for the answer, but that is a good thing. I will the first to admit that I have picked up not only useful information from your posts, but I have often found myself looking deeper into the definitions, coverages, exclusions, ect. because of, what I call, your "learning by seeking" style. Hmmm. what else can I start a thread on...

Mr. Bill, instead of me trying to shoot an arrow into all the trees in the forest... can you give me something like an oak or a maple to shoot at? I' m not sure what you are looking for, but I will be happy to help you find it if you can tell me what it looks like. ( I don't mean to be a wiseguy, I'm not sure what you need). PS thank you for your narative on your Vale experiance. A++
