Browsing the net, checking CADO's latest forum posts...WOW, Roy is ready to Mentor! I'm one of the "Newbies" you see, and among the leagues of hopeful and hopeless at the same time. From previous posts, this Roy, seemed like a truly genuine professional adjuster, ready to help a young'un like myself.  What luck!
So, it all worked out, I packed the camper, and headed out of Kansas towards Indiana...current assignment Indy. I made it in just under 12 hours, 10 of which were driven at the leading edge of the front that was dumping buckets of rain! Whew! Hope this is worth it...that's how I felt last night.

Day one, first impressions; #1 we all have images in our mind of that person on the other end of the phone right? Well, throw that out the window! Good thing Roy isn't as old and frail as I imagined he would be...he can still carry his own ladder! Ha!
Seriously, I am very excited from day one's lessons. Basic adjusting skills 101. Made those appointments, set up our files in Xact as well as our personal activity logs, and had some very interesting and enlightening policy discussion.
Hopefully my sharing this Mentor & Mentee experience will be beneficial for someone else down the road. I for one am very pleased and feel fortunate that Roy has donated his time to me.
I'll update! We are scoping tomorrow!
Brenda

Thats great Brenda

I am curious about your info  your said your from Kansas and your BIO says you have a Texas license. I thought a TX non resident license was no good without a license in your state of residence .

This stuff confuses me

I looked in your profile and notice you have your pic in what appears to be a PT-17. Are you a pilot. I have many hours in an old Stearman. Good old airplane.

Your enthusiasm about your first day and getting to go scoping makes me smile.  I can't wait to hear about your update on scoping losses.

swinkd:  If she's like me, she lives in a state without licensing requirements and chose the best state to get a license (due to reciprocity and the Alamo).  I lived in LA before I moved to AL.

Day 2. Fairly easy day as we had only three to scope. Two were flood, and my first intro to non-waiver. Very good day of learning and getting to know my Mentor.
Tom, the plane is a 1941 Stearman! Yes, I am a pilot, as is my entire family. Fav plane is the Aviat Husky. Flying over the Kansas Flint Hills low & slow and looking at all of the BLM Mustangs there.
Tomorrow Sketch!
Thank you Roy. You're super!....and patient :)
