Larry, I have learned in my 65 years of age that it takes all kind of people and personalites to make the world rotate correctly. Look back in history to those who have defied the norm. If women had not created the emancipation, they would not be voting today. The NAACP was created to emancipate the black community. I don't, nor will I ever consider someone needing to be deleted, if even in jest, just because their views differ from mine. Everyone has a right to post here, as long as it is in a professional manner, without vulgarities and demeaning remarks. No, it would not be right to delete someone, regardless of whether we appreciate their remarks or not.

Harold, Seeing from your bio that you have 24 years of experience leads me to believe that you have seen the tremendous changes in the industry over the years. Add to those changes the enormous impact the internet has had to the sharing of ideas and you arrive at a volitale mixture of circumstances. I frimly believe that CADO has had, and will continue to have, an important role in keeping communications open between a widely diverse audience. Our diversity extends over geographical locales, philosophical positions, political affiliation, business acumen and numerous other categories. What I have seen in the 1+ year that I have been actively involved in CADO is that there is no mechanism in place to assure that information that is posted as credible and reliable is just that. It is up to the other posters to challenge posts that they question the credibility on and everyone has the same right to stand behind and prove their positions. I think it is unfortunate that many forums have developed into avenues of discourse but I feel that much of the blame for that lies within a few individuals who continue to 'beat a dead hourse'. Many of the issues that they seem to so earnestly desire to argue about are those in which we as adjusters have absolutely NO control over. The problem has become the fact that they try to paint their positions as that of authority. Many of the un-initiated read those posts and do not have the experience or education to discern whether there is veracity in those positions. Alas, that is the biggest downfall of the 'internet age'. Your experience makes you a valuable member of our community. Please stay involved and contributing.

Goose, I asked the question so as to help other insureds. The "Red Hand" dialog-issues blocking tactic obviously does not help address indemnification issues that can benefit many policyholders (people) needing guidance... JimF, Thank you for the NAMIC information.

Hannah, I cannot believe that you continue to post and post and post...... This is a site by adjusters, for adjusters. You are not an adjuster. You can learn a lot by reading about what we do, but evidently you do not understand that insureds rarely come here. We do write policies, we do not sell them. We only try to do the best we can with the instructions we are given. You seem to be trying to establish some type of pattern in our behavior. Contact the carrier or State Department of Insurance.... Unless you are here blowing off steam, but your intent indicates otherwise, REALIZE YOU ARE TALKING TO THE WRONG GROUP! Why do you keep bringing up issues outside of our control? We are here to help people and learn from each other. If you have an issue with your claim, I suggest that your time would be more wisely spent addressing it WITH THE APPROPRIATE PARTIES instead of trying to do whatever it is you are trying to do.

Am I ever glad that I retired from this rat race a year ago. I don't envy any of you who are trying to do your job, with the likes of a Hanna Marie and probably a multitude of others, trying to tell you how to read the policy and how you should negate the deductibles, as stated in the contract with the insurance company. I was involved with the Bertha and Fran claims in the Carolinas and we had no qualms taking seperate deductibles and heard very little from the insureds regarding said deductibles. It seems that the problem with this season is the amounts being applied due to the pertentages that are a part of the contracts in Florida. As a resident of Florida I too have a percentage deductible and am aware of the posibility of multiple storms, which can and do strike this state. It is my decision to live here and if I can't understand the ramifications of my decision then I am the one who is to blame, not the Insurance Company. My hat is off to all of you, who are trying to get the job done under such adverse conditions and can only wish you all the best.
