Success Is a Determined Action Away By Max Stein The foolish with all their other thoughts, have this one too: They are always getting ready to live, but never living. Your success will start when you begin to pursue it. To reach your goal or to attain success, you don't need to know all the answers in advance. You just need to have a clear idea of what your goal is. Don't procrastinate when faced with a difficult problem. Break your problems into parts, and handle one part at a time. Develop tendencies toward taking action. You can make something happen now. Break your big plan into small steps and take that first step right away. Everyone who ever got where they are had to begin where they were. Your big opportunity is where you are right now. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Take it.

If sometimes you feel useless, offended, and/or depressed, and your self-esteem is not showing, always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm out of hundreds of millions.

psalm 8-3 quote:
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained, What is man that you are mindful of him, And the son of man thay you visit him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and you have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of your hands, You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen-even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is your name in all the earth! Tom, I hope this helps you and your family find comfort in his " passing " to a wonderful place! God Bless

If you are serious about your goals, drop the conditions. Go directly to your goal. Be your goal! Conditions often disguise strategies for escaping accountability. Why not just take charge and create the experience you are looking for? Eric Allenbaugh

Two Wolves One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2 "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed

Tom, Thank you so much for starting this area. I come into catorg and read post quite often but don't say to much (and that will shock the folks that know me). There is lots of good that goes on in here, there is a lot of name calling at times but most of all.... as adjusters it is our site. This should mean a lot to each of us. Today, as I sat here worn out from the struggles of helping a spouse recover from a major triple surgery I needed some distraction and strength. I came here to the people who I have the most in common with, catastrophe adjusters. To read the quotes gave me a smile back, gave me strenght and helped to build a little character ( I hope). To realize the importance and impact of something as small as a sperm is mind boggling. This little quote has give me something that I can think on for a lifetime..... It is such awsome saying. Thank you. Kelley

Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. It is not difficult to become a champion, don't make excuses, just do it. By the way, you live but once, so make every moment count. You will feel much better about your self when it is time.

Struggle A man found a cocoon of an emperor moth. He took it home so that he could watch the moth come out of the cocoon. On that day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the moth for several hours as the moth struggled to force the body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. It just seemed to be stuck. Then the man, in his kindness, decided to help the moth, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The moth then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the moth because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It was never able to fly. What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the moth to get through the tiny opening was the way of forcing fluid from the body of the moth into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Freedom and flight would only come after the struggle. By depriving the moth of a struggle, he deprived the moth of health. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through our life without any obstacles, we would be crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance. Leave no room for regrets.

Why not go out on a limb, isn't that where the fruit usually is. Sometimes we fear risks, but life is a risk. Take the chance to have a chance. Good adjusters take risks and chances every day, be a good adjuster. Read, study, go to seminars, meet people, know people, and then do a good job. You will be remembered.

I have always felt that life is short and very precious, as I am one of those who survived a blood clot years ago that stopped my heart for over 4 minutes. Crazy Legs Hirsch and Pope Paul died of thrombo phlebitis, just months after I had the problem. I have always felt that from that moment on, life is what you make it/want it, not something that is handed to you. My family and my friends became much more important after that little event. Then I was finally fortunate enough to meet the most wonderful woman in the world, my wife, so I am the luckiest guy around. Our friends and families are but here once, so always love and enjoy them. Here is another movie to watch and please do. http://www.therealizemovie.com/

Not Just a Mom A woman named Emily renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's office was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation. She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself. "What I mean is," explained the recorder, "do you have a job, or are you just a..."Of course I have a job," snapped Emily. "I'm a mother." "We don't list 'mother' as an occupation... 'housewife' covers it," said the recorder emphatically. I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like, "Official Interrogator" or "Town Registrar." "What is your occupation?" she probed. What made me say it, I do not know... The words simply popped out. "I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations." The clerk paused, ballpoint pen frozen in midair, and looked up as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly, emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire. "Might I ask," said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in your field?" Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, "I have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn't), in the laboratory and in the field, (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (the whole darned family), and already have four credits, (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities, (any mother care to disagree?) and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money." There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door. As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants - ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby), in the child-development program, testing out a new vocal pattern. I felt triumphant! I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than "just another mother." Motherhood...What a glorious career! Especially when there's a title on the door. Does this make grandmothers "Senior Research Associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations" and great grandmothers "Executive Senior Research Associates"? I think so!!! I also think it makes Aunts "Associate Research Assistants". Author Unknown Don't forget the Research Associate in your life on Sunday.

The mind is like the stomach. It is not how much you put into it that counts, but how much it digests. A.J. Nock Adjusting is unlike any other profession. In order to be truly proficient at your occupation, you must constantly strive to learn everything you can about it. Take pride in what you do and seek knowledge every day.

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past ... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And
